Very nice campground, one of the nicest I've been to. Beautiful area, sites are large and well maintained, views of lake and resort. For a fee you can get pass to resort, to use amenities. Great buffet at resort, $25 a head. Golf course is terrific, hiking trails abound. Local winery about 20 minutes away, as well as an old large asylum that you can tour. At night you can see more stars than I've ever seen, it's just fantastic. I highly recommend this campground, though get reservations: only 45 sites.
Overall a nice park with lots of activities in area. Park is clean, bathrooms and showers are nice. The waterfront sites are nice but very tight. The sites are small and pricey. Nightly charge was $50 plus $14 for my two twenty year old sons, very expensive for a small site with campers packed in on top of one another. Could use second bathhouse at other end of campground far walk if your down that end. Staff was friendly and helpful. It's right on Great Passage bike trail which was great. My only complaint was the high cost and size of sites. As others have said, road in is steep and winding, check your brakes before you embark. I plan on returning but during week, less expensive and hopefully not as packed in.
This park has a two sides, the seasonal side which is fairly busy, but shaded sites and the temporary sites "on the hill". I prefer the hill side it's treed and away from the permanents so it's quieter. It seems more like camping. The owners can be a little gruff at times. Sites are average size but are sloped, making it hard to level in some cases. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained. Nice campground, very quiet until holidays. Nice pool, tennis courts, basketball, free mini golf. I stay here twice a year.
We made reservations on their corporate site, being very specific about ages of family members. We received confirmation email and upon arrival at campground was told in price was wrong and we should have called campground and that we had to pay more. After showing confirmation they still would not honor, blaming corporate incompetency, I had to have them call corporate twice to get manager on phone who told them to honor price quoted. Very unprofessional local campground management. Unless you were the first person up, you had no hot showers. Outdoor pool not open or ready. Very busy campground constant traffic from cars and golf carts. They did have carnival for young children and a nice fireworks display. Overall bathrooms need work and they need to figure out how to keep hot water flowing in showers. If your looking for a quiet campground this is not it. The policy of the customer is always right, does not apply here.
