This is a nice park...it advertises Wi-Fi but you can only get it near the office. The sites are all grassy which are not hard to level the motorhome. Other than that I would stay here again if in the area. Owners are on site and very helpful and nice.
This was very nice park and even thorough it is in the middle of town you would never know it. Very nicely laid out and we found the staff and people to be friendly. Park and buildings are clean and in great shape! Would definitely stay there again! Not enough nice things to say about this park!
Nice park in a nice area. We extended out stay. Pool is great and office help is nice and helpful. Roads are dirt and tend to be dusty. But not a big deal. This is a VERY LARGE campground! Would definitely stay here again. FREE SHUTTLE to the island boats is a plus!
First, Im not sure about the date we stayed. I know it was spring but the exact date escapes me. This could be a nicer park if they would get the drainage problems fixed. We stayed in the new section and it rained all weekend. Its not fun stepping out into inches of rain to do anything at all! All of our sewer area was under water. And there is no grass at the moment so the area was total mud. Mud and dogs don't mix! This is a city owned park so they need to step it up and get this drainage problem fixed! The people who manage the park are nice and helpful. We needed a place close to home but this place isn't for us. Although, everyone else seemed to be happy!
This was an over night stop for us on the way home. It is a nice campground right off the highway. All sites are paved and pretty level. Was half full when we were there. There is virtually no grass and the dog walk is stones. Was a little noisy but not enough to bother us. Staff we encounter was very friendly. Can't see this as a long time stay for camping but OK to see Louisville and for an over night stop!
We have stayed here several times and after continuing to read the reviews I am inclined to believe that new owners have taken over since the first time we stayed. The staff is friendly and all but they have some work to do...the sites are NOT level and we spent time trying to level our rig. YES I know we are in the mountains but leveling can be accomplished here. We stay in the mountains all the time and have never seen so many people have to move because they can't get level. It is a very simple thing to accomplish to make people happy.
This was a last hurrah camping trip before the end of the season. Arrived really late and was met at the gate. We picked a site, and set up. Couldn't really see the campground as it was really dark. The sites were pretty level and and had plenty of room. Setting up was easy as they have done a great job of making everything convenient! It wasn't until morning we saw the campground. Beautifully kept grounds however lack of trees. But it looks like they have planted some that will someday provide shade. The office staff was nice and friendly and the dogs loved the doggy park! Was quite a walk up hill but worth it. Was pretty deserted on the weekend we camped but I am sure this place is packed during the spring and summer months. Would stay here again, although I like the amenities, I prefer the more rustic look to a campground!
This was a very "rustic" type campground. All the great things you would expect but not the "RV" park look: ie: no trees and such. The sites are LARGE and roomy and there is plenty of shade. I would definitely camp here again given the chance. Only drawback was no "Kamp K-9" but I understand that is coming for next year!
We were here in early spring, so the place was pretty empty. I imagine in the summer it is a hopping place. The location was great and the staff was very friendly. It is well maintained. The doggy park was a long walk but well worth it! Will stay again if given a chance.
We camp here often! Staff are friendly and always willing to go the extra mile. It is definitely one of our favorite places to camp. It feels like going home. It is close to the highway but the noise is never an issue. The restrooms are kept clean and tide, even when the campground is at capacity! This is a family friendly campground. Plenty of activities and lots to do in the area.
I don't have anything bad to say about this park. In fact it is a wonderful campground. I found it after hours of searching and reading reviews of campgrounds in the area. Staff run a well kept family campground. The facilities are clean as can be and the owners are available and visible all the time. It is pleasant place to relax and enjoy the mountains. I will definitely return again if I get the chance. Had a wonderful stay!
I would like to say I stayed here at this campground as we drove all the way from Gatlinburg through the mountains in a 31' motorhome JUST TO STAY HERE! It was July 2010 when we pulled in and they were very busy. There were 3 or 4 people giving directions on where to "park" your rig while checking in. I was told I could stay where I was (after much discussion) since there was no where else for me to go! When I had finally gathered my things to go to the office to check in I was rudely told that I HAD TO MOVE MY RIG NOW! I approached the "gentleman" and advised him that I had been told that I could be here for the duration of the check in process. He told me to "MOVE IT NOW". So, I got into my motorhome of which I had to drive through the park to get out and left the premises. This is not what I have experienced at any other KOA! The staff I encountered was rude! I will never attempt to stay at this KOA when there are many other campgrounds in the area to choose from. This place was packed and after reading other reviews I can not understand why. BEWARE if you choose to camp here!
