This is a camping campground, not an amenities RV resort. We enjoy camping and enjoyed this park. Very nice playground for the kids. The best caverns we have seen on our cavern/spelunking summer vacation. Wonderful place. You can reserve a power site more than 2 days out, but will roll the dice if you pull up unannounced. They have 2 sites with power that are first come first serve. We got one! No, we didn't win the lottery the next day. Not much shade, so having power for us was a must, we have pets that stayed inside while we went to the caverns. They have a nightly bat and wildlife walking tour at the RV park. Pull through was not level, but we did fine with blocks and levelers.
Loved it! Best kid playground I have seen yet at any RV park. Enclosed dog run that is huge, nice pool. Large RV sites, most shaded. Can't beat the view of Devil's Tower from your RV! Pedal bike rentals, great store, ok WI-FI. Hay Rides every night and a showing of Encounters of the 3rd Kind. Wish we could have stayed 2 nights so we could do the hay ride and the movie! Wish we could have stayed a week!! For those who are looking for the movie areas at the tower itself, prior to reaching the base, there is a small road that turns off to the left. There is a trail after you park, if you follow it, you can see the meadow where they filmed the scenes in Encounters and in Paul (we think, it looks right). If you follow the trail to the first bench, its the perfect place for many pictures, we took ours leaning on the tower, sitting, peaking over. Lots of fun and no one was there to get in the pics or laugh at our antics.
This park would rate a 10 if it had an enclosed dog park. Other than that, the pool is super clean, the two play areas for the kids were fun, the rental pedal bikes were great for my boys, and the river was great, though we couldn't get in it, just fish and watch. The Wi-Fi was very strong, even at the river's edge. Plenty of space to walk your pets, trails and open areas. We were stopping for the night on the way to visit family, and decided to stay 2! The work kampers are amazing, friendly, and so helpful. Pull thru sites are medium width, but the back in sites are much more spacious. We had no problem sharing the power box. The campers next to us were a reasonable distance. Full trees, plenty of shade, very relaxing time.
The park was clean and well maintained. Roads are about average width, but all nice concrete. They are in the process of building an enclosed pet area, but the open grass pet area they currently have is quite nice, though small. I had no issues with the school or the open park, I didn't feel unsafe at all. People walked on the sidewalk and didn't cut through the park, that I saw. The bathrooms were clean. Not much grass near the RV sites, but I don't mind clean and level concrete, especially when we are gone most of the day. Enjoyed a clear view of the nightly Disney fireworks from our RV.
