Large sites. Camped here in off season so not sure what park is like in season. Staff were friendly and courteous. Rented canoe and literally had whole Danforth bay to ourselves. Connects to lake Ossipie where there was one other boater, a motor boat with water skier. I'm sure this is not the case in season but week of Sept 22, 2014 park was relatively empty and bay was literally empty. Weather was great so if you want large sites, full hookups and the bay to yourself Danforth Bay is the place. Only down side internet service, both park wifi, verizon and att ( I tried them all with personal and work phone, hot spot, etc.) was very poor. Geographically it was expected though. Highly recommended for off season, cannot comment on in season.
Located in Burlington's city park. Most sites open, not secluded. Easy access to Burlington bike trails. Probably the nicest bike trails I've seen, however the locals take their biking way too seriously. It is hard to get an acknowledgement when passing the local bikers. It is as if you are trespassing on "their" trail. Through my job I travel across the country and I would have to say the people on the Burlington bike trail, at least the people I encountered, are a miserable lot (and it's not like they are these elite trail bikers). They dress the part but it ends there. So if you are into trail biking the trails and views are some of the best, the locals, not so much.
Nice lake, catch and release. Canoeing, kayaking, row boats reasonable rental rates. Large sites, pet friendly, sports activities for kids. Friendly but no-nonsense security staff. Lake front sites available and worth the extra money. Have camped here twice this year and since it is only about a 50 minute drive will probably return before the season's end.
Campsites were small. When I made my reservation they ask you to provide 3 choices. I did not get any of the 3 choices. They assign your site the day of arrival based on availability. I knew this when I made the reservation but you would think for the price they would be more accommodating. If you do not have kids with you, and are not excited by magicians, jugglers, and hypnotists I would avoid this park. Easy access to county bike path approximately 3 miles to Lake George. Also trolley service was fine, Wi-Fi adequate. Probably great place if you have young kids with you. We enjoyed biking and Lake George, not worth the price for me personally.
