Very accommodating owner. We were a very last minute reservation. Relative in area very sick. At first they didn't have a site, but called us back and said they could accommodate us. Pull through site a little tight, but they helped get us in. Due to our size, the owner said to go out in the in drive, so we didn't have to maneuver tight turns for the regular exit. Park was advertised as Good Sam, but they said they stopped last year, although they still show the logo. 40# propane was $30. Owner removed the tank. A camper brought it back and installed it for us! Decent dog run in a fenced area. Queen loved it! Approximately 10 miles south of Reading, PA and about 3 miles from route 222 expressway. Definitely a come back to.
Way, way overpriced, even for KOA. Interior gravel roads all potholes. Sites are generous and gravel. Picnic table and concrete patio at every site. Wi-Fi is very, very poor, dropping signal every minute or so. I had to retype this review 6 times before I was able to finish. Trash laying around most of the perimeter. It's about 10 miles from I-80/90. Office staff was very nice, and store well stocked. Our site was about 100-150 feet from the road, which wasn't traveled all that much. Things were quiet during the night. This might be an okay for overnight, as nothing else was open this early in the season. It's definitely not a destination or anything more than overnight.
We stayed here on our way to Arkansas from Texas. This used to be a COE location, but the current owners brought it. There is no cable TV, and no sewer on site. There is a main dumpstation, and the on-air TV works good. While there is no Wi-Fi, we did manage to find a signal, from somewhere, and although poor, it worked. The sites, along the lake, are basically parallel parking on blacktop. There is a boat ramp within about 100 yards. There are other 'regular' campsites too. The owners were more than friendly and actually stopped to chat for awhile. The grounds were spotless, and had a rustic feel. Although this might not be a destination, except for some great fishing we were told, it's definitely a place to stay a day or two to relax while on the road. We're sure we'll stop here again during our travels south.
We stayed a year one night. That pretty much sums it up. Manager was nice. Went into his office to register. Honestly, I don't know how he found anything in there. Very old park, poorly maintained, if it is maintained. Dogs run loose, residents loiter. Many, many old RV's. Mostly permanents. Internet is a paid service, although you get the first 24 hours free. That was the best part of this campground. I would never stay here again.
