We have stayed here several times and really like it. Great park if you have dogs; lots of grass and space to walk them. The sites are level and easy to get into. There are some full time residents, but they keep their sites very neat and clean. One word of caution, when you pull in, stop in the entrance to check in, don't pull forward to the office, or you will have to drive around the whole park to get headed in the right direction! We didn't use the pool, but it looked very clean. We would stay here again!
This park is basic and I mean BASIC! Very small and not much else, other than a parking space with hookups. The sites are not very level, seem to all slope down towards the street. Our front step was easily 20 inches off the ground after we were level. Thankfully we always travel with an extra adjustable step! The "laundromat" is a washer/dryer stuck in a small shed with the doors left open. There is no dumpster, just a couple of trash cans strapped to some light poles. If you don't have a good turn radius on your RV, you will find it difficult to get around. Our rig and two vehicles barely fit into the site. The campground owner is very nice, I just wish I could say more nice things about this campground. As far as being pet friendly, there is no place to walk them, other than out on the road. We would not stay here again.
Great park! We loved this park so much, we planned our return trip so we could stop here again! Nice pool, wonderful dog fenced dog play area.....it is huge! There is nothing not to love about this park. Ok, maybe a few more trees would be nice, but other than that, this is our "go to" park if we are driving across Kansas. The BBQ place just at the entrance has some of the best BBQ we have ever tasted. We would and are staying here again!
If you have dogs, do yourselves and your dogs a huge favor and keep on driving. We removed over 40 stickers from our dogs, plus the ones we removed from our pants legs, shoes and now picking them out of our rugs/carpet. The grounds are a mess, grass needs to be cut, weeds are everywhere, the dog run is full of weeds and stickers, the roads are full of potholes. Basically this park is a mess. On a funny note, there are signs that say this is a nonsmoking park because they got tired of picking up cigarette butts. We wish that was the only problem here! There are trucks that park out front and the smell of manure from the stock trucks parked there is overwhelming. On an up side, the hot tub worked, seemed clean and was hot. We would not stay here again, not even for a quick overnight stop.
Another great KOA park! They were setting up Halloween decorations and tons of them! The managers were sooo nice and when we asked if we could use a fire pit from one of the unoccupied cabins, they said no problem! Again a super clean KOA park, great hosts and we would stay here again! One big perk for those of us with dogs, they have multiple "bark parks" scattered around the property, so you don't have to walk all over to get to one. The roads a smooth gravel and the sites are level.
Nice clean park. The sites are a bit on the tight side, but acceptable. The roads are all paved, super for walking our dog in her wheelchair and there are nice trails behind for walking our other dog! Everything looked very well maintained and we would certainly stay here again!
Nice super clean park! We had plenty of room for slides to open and a nice grass area with a picnic table. The park managers were very friendly, as were some of their helpers who were working on the grounds. We would stay here again!!
Do yourself a favor and just keep driving!! The previous reviews lead us to believe this park would be "OK" for a one night stay: it ranks right up there with one of the worst parks we have ever stayed. The first site they gave us had a run down motorhome with a full time resident, the yard was cluttered with junk and a pickup with a camper parked at the front, that was plugged into a 15amp plug and contained 3 Pit Bulls. Even if they were nice Pit Bulls, that is unacceptable living conditions for dogs. The manager was driving around the park in a golf cart with no shirt on, not a pretty sight. We moved sites next to another one night/passing through motorhome as far from the multitude of full timers and their junk as we could. The roads are dirt, normally we don't mind dirt, but in this case, if they get any worse, you will need a 4-wheel drive RV to get to your site. Then we had to drive over a semi-ripped out tree stump to get into our site. Looks like they started to remove it and just gave up. This place should NOT bear the KOA name! We normally stay at KOA if we can because of their standards and we've always found the parks acceptable and more often than not, very nice. But this park is a shame to the KOA name.
This campground is listed as I-24 campground, but is, in fact, miles off of I-24! The vast majority of the park are permanent residents, with lots of "stuff" surrounding their sites. Spent the evening listening to a domestic argument: very loud and very profane. We stayed here a few years ago and hoped it would be better this time. It's worse! The folks that run the campground are very nice, but maybe they need to screen their full time residents a bit better. Potholed roads, uneven parking, etc. We gave it two tries and will stay elsewhere next time! I hope the managers start to make some changes here, they are nice, but it's not worth the drive to stay here again.
This is a very nice campground. Sites are level, the place is spotless, and there is plenty of grass to walk your dogs. The hot tub is one of the best we have ever seen at any campground, and the staff is very friendly. They also have free laundry. All this for only $20 a night! If you are staying in Amarillo, don't stay anywhere else.
This is an incredible park. Nice level sites, and plenty of room on the level concrete pad for your vehicle. The uncrowded and dog friendly beach is just steps away from your site. Friendly staff along with a great clubhouse, make this an excellent park.
