They are also known as Rock Gardens Campground. They claim to have "Big Rig" sites, but when we got there we had to thread a needle to get our 38' motorhome into our slot. They have numerous decorative rock gardens across from the sites (limiting the amount of room to back in), and I hit one of them with my RV. The owner came out and said the sites were NOT designed for RV's our size and that they should have given us more detailed instructions on how to get in. I was angry and agreed with him very loudly. When I drove the RV out to turn around, the owner was very nasty with my wife while I wasn't there. He made no offer to remedy anything. I could not have been more angry! There are towns not far from Glenwood Springs you can stay at if you have a large Class A.
The RV park has 50 amp service, full hook up and long slips, so it appears to have everything a high quality RV park needs. However, the place is right in the heart of Bossier City, and a freight train runs along one edge. It is very loud here day and night. For that reason alone we gave it a 7 rather than a 9.
This is an outstanding KOA. Everything is as it should be, considering the price of the site. We enjoyed it very much. The only downside is that our site was right next to the lift station, which smelled of sewage the first couple of days we were here. Water pressure was very low, but the water was clean.
The park and pool area was beautiful and very clean. Our camp fire was interrupted by the owner's Rotwiler which got out of his electric fence. He was a nice dog, but we didn't know, so we hurried into the bus once he started to eat the hot dogs we were eating when he approached. They sprayed for mosquitos when we were there, and they were still very thick. The water was clean and smelled/tasted good. The folks in the office were very nice.
We could not have been more happy staying in this camp ground. The water was clean, the beach was clean and beautiful, and the laundry facility was first class. All front load machines, and all very new. My better half was thrilled. We had a concrete pad not 20 feet off of the beach, all for $29 per night! They have a special Good Sam's deal going on right now. We loved it!
The park was wonderful. They were helpful with tickets to nearby events, and had all of the amenities we needed. The water was good and the laundry was reasonably large and the machines in good shape. We really enjoyed the stay. Be sure to check out the Hot Deal on the KOA website. We got one night free with purchase of 3. It was a HOT DEAL in our opinion!
Everything was in excellent condition. The laundry was modest, but very clean and inexpensive. The roads were paved and the slip was concrete. They even had a wooden deck on the side of the slip. The free cable TV had been recently upgraded to include almost 100 channels. The people were really nice and we really enjoyed our stay.
They have had massive problems with their water this week. The water is full of metal, which causes everything to rust and it stinks badly. They have had trouble with their lift station this week so we have had brown water and loss of water at times. We will not be returning to this park.
