Stayed at resort for months of Jan & Feb in the wooded area of park. Large trees & palms behind and over our large site but poor pavement to park on. Other sites in the open non tree areas have good concrete pads and cost more. Lots of activities, good pool, hot tub, lap pool, and roads for biking. Friendly staff & residents including both US & Canadian snowbirds. No permanent mobile homes setup. All are motor coaches, 5th wheels, or trailers with many stored onsite year round. Some road noise from neighboring highways. Would definitely stay again.
Older congested campground with mature pines and palms providing shade, well off busy highway 19. Nice warm pool, very small clubhouse plus library room. Limited activities, one shuffleboard court, one horseshoe pit and open dog area. Monthly winter rate under $500 plus cable & electric. Would not return.
Campground sounded great for time during the Birding festival in January 2013. I sent email for 14 day reservation but the reply said at this time (Aug 12) they are only taking reservations for 3 months or longer. Will have to keep looking.
Stayed here during PT Pelee birding weeks because it was closest to park. It is mostly a seasonal park with pull thru sites WITHOUT SEWER. Had to take a back in site to get sewer. Sites are tightly packed in, ours was soggy with surface water, could not access free internet from site, only in front of closed rec centre, no cable, staff was not friendly or helpful. Only 1 restroom / shower building for entire campground in off season, long walk to it. Location was best thing going for this campground.
