My wife wanted me to put "Keep driving, this place sucks", but then she handed me the computer and said that I was more eloquent, so here goes... The manager was super sweet and accommodating; however this property is extremely in need of maintenance (the sites are not level) and even though there is 50AMP service, there is no on/off switch on the breaker box. One has to remove the fuse breaker and invert it...not too safe for the average citizen. Then, there's the cats. The park is overrun with stray cats; some of which appear to be in poor health. They run everywhere, including under your coach. There is an abundance of permanent residents who seem to lack pride of ownership quite a bit. Then, there's the two green ponds - fenced in, but still stagnant looking; complete with a flock of Emperor Geese honking around the perimeter. The meta-tag for the URL states that this property is for sale...could be a bargain if you have lots of capital for improvements and marketing. I would have to say this park is a pass. Nice manager, but not a place to stay. If not for being at the end of my driving limit and driving 10 miles past I-70, I'd of stayed at a rest stop.
Super quiet RV park that is pet friendly and motor-cycle friendly. Off the beaten path, but easy to find and work the few minutes to get there from the highway. The park is replete with mature oak trees that offer great Summer shade and there is a medium-sized in-ground pool. Shady Oaks is less than an hour away from just about every Ozark attraction; including Branson, MO; Eureka Springs, AR and Mystic Caverns. We stayed a week and had a great time. We'll be back for sure.
