This park is fabulous! While it does not offer the traditional amenities like a pool or shuffleboard, it has its own unique offerings. It is in a great location (close to town but far enough to enjoy the solitude of the river. They offer a large garden and large community fire pits. The owners are very friendly do all they can to cater to your desires. We will definitely return here anytime we are in the Asheville area.
This is a campground not a resort. They have a pool, basketball, horseshoes, tennis courts and many other amenities. Several sites did flood when it rained. The main thing this park lacks is customer service. Some staff members are flat out rude. The roads need repair, trees need to be trimmed, and other misc. repair. It is not a new park. It is an older park that has added a few spaces in an attempt to accommodate larger rigs. We made our reservations online for our 39' 5th wheel. Upon arrival we were assigned to a space that was not large enough but they were able to move us to a more appropriate space for our rig. I would not stay here again. There is a new Elite park right down the road with helpful staff and better facilities.
We received a month at this resort for $199 as a prize at the Tampa RV Show. As the prior review was so poor, we took the time to drive to the park and look it over before committing to staying there. Very happy that we did. The park was filled with old run down permanent trailers. This is not an RV resort. It is an old trailer park that allows any type of "camper" to stay until the earth grows over their vehicle. The only reason I gave it a 2 is for the awesome beaches nearby.
We stayed in the riverside campground and would have stayed longer but they do not offer full hookups. The bath house is like new and was always clean during the week. The weekend visitors trashed it out daily.
Great location, good cable and wifi. The facilities were appropriate for a campground. The bathrooms were very rustic. The only thing that might classify it as a resort is that it has a nice pool and spa. We had a lousy overpriced lunch at their restaurant. For a great meal go to Caps instead.
The park is in a good location and has a nice pool and snack bar. The cable is very limited (as in only a few channels). The wifi is only available at the pool and office from an outside vendor for an additional fee. The bathrooms are really dated (think old campground not resort). The laundry room is big and clean but the dryers were quarter eaters that took forever to dry a load. This is a large park yet only offers one real swimming pool and one laundry. The sites in the front near the pool are paved while the others are on grass (with lots of ants).
It was very dusty and in need of cleaning and landscaping. The pay showers were too dirty so after one glimpse, I never returned to the bathhouse. The are nice areas around the lakes but the RV sites were lacking. I would not return to this park.
Do not mistake this park with the Canyon Gateway RV Park as there is a huge difference. We were really disappointed when we arrived at Canyon Gateway as it was really dusty, the staff was grumpy and the sites weren't very nice (unless you want a view of the freeway). We were delighted when they informed us that we were at the wrong park! We were amazed at the difference once we arrived at Grand Canyon Railway. The staff was very helpful and the park was clean with well spaced sites. The bathhouse appeared new and was always spotless. It was a pretty long hike to the pool from our site. It is a small indoor pool designed for the hotel guests. Great location, friendly staff, group campfires, and clean facilities.
This is a quiet park with great views. The natural spring hot tub is small but we found everyone taking turns. There is also a designated swimming area with a sandy bottom. You won't hear traffic out here but the frogs and crickets are really loud at night and will lull you to sleep.
This is a wonderful park. The pool was refreshing and excellent for swimming and snorkeling. The sites are spread out and each has a covered picnic table and grill. We saw lots of rabbits and enjoyed the sunsets.
This park is very close to SeaWorld. It has a parking lot feel because the sites are really close together. The pool, which is the park's best feature, was always clean. They also had a nice laundry room.
This park is horrible. The grass wasn't mowed, the workers were rude, and the park contained lots of permanents that lived in makeshift trailers. It was too scary to go out at night because of the roaming drunks. We never used the pool hot tub as it was usually very crowded with people swimming in cut offs and t-shirts. It is in a good location but I would not recommend staying here.
We stayed at this park for the location and because we had purchased a "coupon" at the Greensboro RV Show. The restrooms were dated but always clean. Additional sites were being added but all of the work was done during reasonable hours and did not effect us. We have been traveling for almost a year now and this is the friendliest park we have visited. The people there treat you like family and you'll hate to leave.
