This is our family favorite place to go tent camp. Owned by a woman who is 81 years old. Wooded creek front campsites. Mostly good for tents although some small campers do go here. Bathrooms are fine but not great. We bring our own soap because she doesn't supply it. Each site has a fire ring and a picnic table. The creek is great fun for whole family. Shallow spots for getting your feet wet & there is a swimming hole with a rope swing. When we were just there we saw a black bear. It was scary and exciting. We take our rafts and boats so we can float around in the deep area. If you like to hike she has a great area to explore. If you follow the creek upstream a couple of miles they have a beautiful lagoon and waterfall to enjoy in privacy. It's not a clear path because not many people venture up that far but if you do it's highly impressive. Really close to local Front Royal Canoe Co for canoe, raft & tube retals on the Shenandoah River. You can take all day trips or half day. This is known as canoe capital of east coast. If you can put up with the bathrooms you will love this place.
It has 2 pools, one of which has a huge water slide that you have to pay extra to use. Gravel roads that you may rent golf carts to get around because the place is huge. They have cut down a lot of trees, which is disapointing. New cottage rentals are very nice. Some have kitchen & bathroom inside. Flat screen tvs w/ cable. They run $250 a night to $85 for the small cabins. They have putt putt, arcade room, & a small boardwalk where you can buy food & ice cream. Activities are planned for themed weeks. Overall fun place except for lots of traffic with golf carts on gravel.
