We camped here for the month of February. There are two restrooms, the ones reviewed below and another one. We used the second ones and they were remodeling them while we were there and they were fine. I assume they will do the other building next. It is right across the street from the Gulf beaches and it was wonderful to walk in the evening around sun set. Down side is its next to a pretty busy street and there is some traffic noise with diesel buses, motorcycles, and if you enjoy quiet you want to get out before March. The month of March is spring break and it get a little crazy in Panama City Beach. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will return next year.
We were a little leery based on past reviews, however we were pleasantly surprised. This is part of the old Jim and Tami Fay Bakers Heritage USA. These folks have purchased the campgrounds and lakeside lodge and are restoring as quickly as possible. They were having the TV cable upgraded while we were there and told us we only had basic cable, but when we turned it on we had over 90 channels. They gave us an air card to use but the second week we were there they had Wi-Fi installed and it worked great. They also planted some new shrubs and trees and did some landscaping while were were camped there. The restroom and showers were as clean as any we have seen all winter. On the short side, the campground is on the slope of a hill and its a little hard to level in some sites, picnic tables but on dirt or grass and not level. There is nothing for children to do. However it is very convenient to Charlotte. We spent the month of March here and will return next year.
Great campgrounds. Yes, if you are staying for an extended period you might want to us a dish as they only have 12 channels and the wi-fi is weak but did work. The lake is nice, there is part of the shore that is shallow and has plants but the wild life is abundant and fun to watch. There are lots of activities and wonderful people. We will be back again next year for another month or two.
This is a great campgrounds. I would give it a 10 if they didn't try to charge us $11.95 a night for Wi-Fi, $54.00 for 5 nights of Wi-Fi. Come on a few dollars if you have to. Or charge me $5 more to stay and give me the Wi-Fi free. Other than that, this is as good a place as we have stayed.
Just stayed overnight on the way south. They put us next to an old junk bus with someone living in it. No one else in the park. We were not comfortable staying there. Water and electric very good and office staff friendly.
