The park has cement slabs , nice pool , hot tub and the beach is within easy walking distance . Make sure you arrive before 6-7 pm because the office closes for the night and it will make things more difficult . The sites in the rear and center of the park are closer to the beach and have less road noise .
This park is about 20 miles north of Alamosa . 2.5 miles off highway 17 so there is plenty of peace and quiet. Campers receive half price admission to the hot spring pools. Dry camping is also available for $10. The location is ideal for visiting the Great Sand Dunes National park, Zapata Falls, San Luis Lake, and the Colorado Gator Park. Also, it makes a nice reasonably priced stop over for traveling to and from northern Colorado. All sites have some shade and are long Pull-Thru's. WI-Fi worked well and was included with rate. We will definitely return.
Best park in town. The back of the park sits right on the river and you are just around the corner from town. Both the owner and the camp hosts were friendly and did their best to serve the customers. Be sure to bring your water pressure regulator because the pressure is extremely high.
It is not a bad campground and the owners are friendly. However, there were too many restrictions and odd limitations. For example, one shower free, $6.00 if you want a second one. The shower house is closed for a couple of hours for cleaning during the middle of the day and is locked in the early evening. You can't park your car sideways so it will fit in your space. I don't smoke, however, If you do smoke, you are not allowed to leave your space while smoking. There are several other nit pick rules to follow that make it feel like the campground is designed to make the owners feel comfortable at the expense of the paying customers.
