Celebrated Easter in Gettysburg PA and chose Granite Hill as the campground. Sites are level and well kept. We arrived prior to their official spring opening, and they were working hard. Bathrooms were very clean, and it took a while to get hot shower water but when it arrived it was hot and plentiful. Camp store was very well stocked and reasonable on pricing. Staff was friendly and outgoing. Great location to explore Gettysburg from.

This campground was a nice find for visiting Gettysburg, and is located in a quiet area away from the main tourist venues. The campground was very clean and the staff friendly. They actively worked throughout the campground and the bathrooms were clean and well supplied. The activities and amenities were very nice. One side is well shaded and the other side was pretty open. Hookups including cable TV were good and Wi-Fi was strong and dependable. The only thing stopping me from a higher rating, was that most sites were small or narrow and they really packed us in.

This park was very convenient to Williamsburg, Richmond, and Virginia Beach. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The bathrooms were clean, air conditioned, and well supplied. Although many say this park is not a destination park, we found it ideal as a base camp to explore the tidewater area of Virginia. Sites were concrete, level, and most had trees for shade. Good connections for water cable and sewer. Wi-Fi was available and we had no problems connecting. Easy access to all the tidewater areas and close to restaurants, food stores, and shopping.

Stayed here over the 4th of July. We usually hate camping when everyone goes to Wal-Mart and buys a tent and heads out for the Holiday, but here we were. The park was packed as expected, and the Rangers did an excellent job as it was quiet and very enjoyable. Staff was outstanding and friendly, and the bathroom in the Maple Lane Loop was spotless. Really nice pool, and huge lake which was great fishing. Definitely will return.

This is one of our favorite state parks. We usually stay in the Lower Lake Campground. The staff are friendly and outgoing, and Rangers patrol the campground regularly. We have been camping here for over 15 years, and have established friendships with local merchants, business people and local residents. This is a scenic campground which has two lakes for fishing, one for swimming, a playground for the little ones, and Ice Cream available at the general store. They have made many upgrades and improvements, and the construction continues with more improvements underway.

The staff is very accommodating and helpful. The park is clean, and located in rural setting, yet minutes away from shopping and restaurants. The Wi-Fi is weak as listed in other reports, but we found cell service with AT&T throughout the campground. The cable is 25 channels from Direct TV, and sites are available for your personal satellite systems. Prices in the store are not out of line, and are far cheaper than Kings Dominion charges for things. The park is convenient to Fredericksburg and I-95 and we used it as a base for our District of Columbia and Richmond trips.
