We spent a week here on our way down to Florida. Aesthetically, it wasn't much to look at. It had been raining when we arrived and the water puddled up really bad on the grass next to our site. I had to be careful where I stepped or else I'd be ankle deep in red clay mud. The bathrooms were clean and the laundry was decently priced. We met one of the owners and she was very sweet. The park is very convenient to the freeway and some fast food places, but not in a very good part of town. We would stay here again, but not for a week.
Terrible campground. Overpriced compared to other campgrounds in the area, especially since they have no sewer hookups. The two mile dirt road leading to the campground was full of potholes and was washboard-like because of the rain. Interior roads and sites are narrow with low hanging branches. Many low hanging electrical or cable wires. The wire to the security camera broke off our vent hatch when we arrived because it was hanging so low and we couldn't see it at night. There was broken glass all over our campsite. Internet and cell phone service was almost non-existent. When we left we had to have someone get on top of our trailer to lift branches and wires out of the way as we drove out. We would not stay here again.
We really liked this park. There was a big game room with a pool table; laundry was fairly inexpensive ($1.25); and the pool was heated and very refreshing. When we arrived, they were getting ready to close the pool, but when they heard that our kids had been looking forward to swimming, they kept it open for us. The park had a very laid-back atmosphere and we found it very relaxing after a long day of driving. We would definitely stop at this park again.
Nice park to stop at for a night or two. They charged an extra $1 for our older son, but we were already getting the Passport America rate, it didn't matter much. There are fireflies at the park which was a neat treat for us. The kids also enjoyed the playground and they have a game room. Sites were level and every space had a picnic table and fire ring.
The place is no frills, but has been kept up nicely. The sites are gravel and mostly level. Restrooms and showers were clean and the water pressure for the showers was great. We could hear highway noise, but it didn't keep me up. They charge an extra $2 for anyone over 2 years old, which seems a bit ridiculous considering there is nothing to do at the park. It is not bad for a 1 night stop.
It is a decent park, nothing fancy though. All of the sites have a picnic table and the shade trees are still maturing. The pool is very small, but still refreshing on a hot day. This park is next to train tracks and I heard several trains go through between 3 am and 5 am. Wall Drugs is a 5 minute walk from the park.
