Question big rig friendly. Our 32' MH seemed cozy, even in pull-through. Disconnected tow due hilly access road in loops and tight turns. Rate is senior pass. Electric and water only. All sites have some water view. As this is KY and we learned since, smoking is still in fashion. The bathrooms, showers, stores, etc., areas very clean. Good patrons behaving very nice. Most sites fairly level. Out of way; isolated and challenging local roads; real challenge from I-65; easy from Western Kentucky Pkwy. Doubt return due location and difficult roads.
Super nice staff. Stayed on Thursday night so joined in for $9 bbq dinner and live, free country music. Don't understand how they were graded for all awards advertised. Location is horrible. I-65 traffic 24/7; frontage road and adjacent hotel contribute to destroying atmosphere. Small sites, grass/dirt. We had difficulty in pull through site with 32'MH and tow. Very well stocked camp store. Laundry, bathrooms, showers were awesome clean. Don't plan return because of noise.
Disappointing. Type site reserved online not available. Told to search park loops for site. Each loop has cul de sac for turn arounds. Very difficult in MH with tow; especially, when other campers had their vehicles all over roads. Bathrooms dirty and rundown. Overcharged us as they did not give advertised senior discount. Long drive from entrance. Great overall park golf course. No plans to return. Difficult to maneuver.
We stayed for 7-days. Site maps misleading as to size of pull-throughs. One of our group's 36' 5th wheel filled the entire pad. We had sufficient space to angle park our toad in front of 32'MH. Park complex is wonderful. Facilities were clean. Campground hose friendly and stayed on top of things. Park rangers patrolled frequently. During the latter part of our stay, the duty ranger was intent on capturing campers who had a beer/wine in their site. He would drive wrong way on one-way streets to get better view into campsites. It is a dry county, but really. We enjoyed our visit. This is a remote located facility. Nearest town with shopping/food is 20 minutes on parkway (70mph). We would go back as would nearly all of our other 7 RVs in our group.
Excellent park, excellent community center. Wonderful park. Definitely will visit again. Walk-in pool. Bathrooms extremely clean and well kept. Grounds excellent. Sewer tap toward front portion of site, thus we had to use our extra hose length. Water and electric connections were okay. Check-in very pleasant and easy. Plenty of room staging during check-in; we tow Ford Flex. Very close to excellent shopping, dining, recreation.
We believe this is worthy of a "10" because of the superb cleanliness of the bath house facilities, the park staff, camp host, and overall appeal of the campground and area. Our "dingy" battery was d.o.a. Upon arrival at our site, despite being after working hours, the park ranger came down with jumper cables to help us out. Overall superb.
Visited again! Absolutely wonderful in every aspect. Wonderful camp host and staff. Even picked up daily trash from site for guests. Town of Cedar Key delight to visit. Fantastic food. We will visit here as often as we can. Clubhouse was impeccable. Restrooms and showers were clean and fresh as home.
Wonderful in every respect. Super park with quiet, peaceful surroundings. Bathhouse/restrooms were virtually NEW. This is a fantastic destination- our only regret was we could only stay the one night. Definitely be back. Some parts of the road were a little tight and some sites appeared tight; however, we had a 42 ft motorhome right next to us. Big rig access - yes.
CLEANLINESS in RR/Showers best ever seen! Totally impressive: no bugs, flying or crawling! Great power, water. Easily leveled our MH. Quite a few overnighters and seasonals. Wonderful heated pool, game room, covered picnic-party area. Very well stocked store. Fishing pond. Perimeter sites have abundant shade (am-pm). Best sites are along west side for late afternoon shade. Basically all sites are convenient to facilities. We definitely will return 2012. H-Irene put damper on this trip. Rated as 10 as it is the among the best of the best we have seen with comparable services: electric/water.
Terrific value! Passport rate $22. This is a super facility located near prime activities for recreation, eating lobstah and other gorrgeous Maine seafood, sightseeing, and having a great time. Complete full-services including cable. Believe great venue for family as there are great cabins also for non-RVers. Sites are very nice and close to level as possible for crushed rock. We camped during heavy rain storm coming from west and also days before hurricane irene was due to hit NC. Minor standing water on park roads. Sites were routinely dry and comfortable. Very impressed and pleased. We definitely will return.
Electric & Water. Hot showers. Very clean restrooms. Not all sites level, we had difficulty in 24' class B. Suggest pressure wash clean inside shower rooms to remove build-up on walls and floors. Overall wonderful stay. Would return.
$10 w/Senior Golden Passport. Super clean rest rooms; unfortunately no soap or towels/hand driers. No showers in park. Water access for MH conveniently located throughout our Area C. Able to fill water tank without hassle as spigots were threaded for hose; unlike so may other parks. Although "dry" camping, this was most enjoyable. Two bathroom houses for our area; large spacious sites (albeit ours was very sloped so we never could get level. Nicely wooded, shaded, yet open and comfortable. Definitely come back next year,
Full hook up. Site needs gravel base or filler to make level. We had to pull tight to utility poles to find semblence of level. Owners very nice. Good Sam discount available, no other. Nice size sites. $36 for elec/water. $38 full. Showers not used, must pay. Restrooms minimum acceptable. 2 toilet and 2 showers for each gender: need more for this size campground. Claiming to remodel bath house this winter. Believe same plan advertised for last winter didn't happen. Overall higher rating with new bath house facilities. Need deep cleaning.
Outstanding and clean facilities, outstanding owners, and character of park. Plentiful men and women showers and sinks (abt 6 each). Camp store very well stocked to include convenience, camping, and family snacks, etc. Sites are hard gravel, earth, stone so even though it rained they were firm. The power and water connections are at rear of site so at least 25' of water hose necessary for us. Full service 30amp available on approx 5 sites, rest 15-20 amp. I don't see rigs longer than 34' using this facility. If sites were blacktop or concrete would rate 10 as we had some chore getting level. Would definitely return - this is great park - lots of shade. Only 4.1 miles from Lake George downtown.
Very, very nice and management friendly park. Sites are comfortable, not spacious. We enjoyed a site without anyone on either side. Across from us were a motorhome and 5th wheel. With the awning out on MH and slide out on 5th wheel, there was 2 ft clearance. Bathhouse attractive and clean, but toilet stalls were tired and cramped. Showers were coin operated and were very tired with need of painting and sprucing up (also cobwebs). Water very strong well smell, cost 25 cents for 6 minutes. Overall nice park and we would stay again. Hoping for little sprucing up.
$28 included our $5 non-resident charge and $2.75 non-reservation charge. We camped in MH in 30amp area on outer ring overlooking awesome Lake Erie. Aside from the filthy, unkempt, bug infested, trashy bathrooms and showers, this is a wonderful location and recreation area. My wife showered early, and I about 8:30 on a Friday morning. There were NO cleaning or maintain persons to be seen. Shower curtains torn, window screens falling off and broken, shower heads non working properly: a mess. Crushed rock site base with grass/dirt patio.
Very, very nice. Everything clean, well kept, and friendly. Couple young girls in office were in need of adult supervision. Overall all staff were professional and courteous. Park appears young as shade trees haven't matured. Would definitely return - hopefully when temperatures are lower.
Would be "10" if bug control was in effect and excrement removed from beach area. Horrible mosquito, gnat and fly problem, exaggerated by excessive heat and humidity during our 7-day stay ending Aug 3. The lake beach front is covered with goose and duck excrement (yuk). Hard to understand how Ohio State and Park Mgt ignore potential health risks. Sites are nearly all beautifully shaded with mature trees. Hard surface RV pad, crushed rock/grass patio. Showers/rest rooms clean. Would return but not when temp in 90s.
WiFi is fee based. Shower facilities at front (non-seasonal sites) being remodeled. Older shower building cleaned 2X per day and is adequate (most parks we've visited only clean once per day). Owner and staff very courteous and friendly. Site very nice with clean picnic table, crused rock. Unfortunately no solid surface patio. There is a lake (no fishing). Very pet friendly. Even food/convenience concession. Store well stocked with grocery items and RV necessities. We were most pleased and will return.
Sites on top of each other. Smokers foul air. Dumpsters only located at entrance and far end at maintenance shed area. Lousy hot water and water pressure. Beware - $8 internet reservation fee, $27 day camping fee, and $8 Mich park pass fee per day for whopping $74 total for two nights with only electric hookup, and neighbor site yard toys and kids stuff all over. Yes, showers and restrooms clean, needed hot water and water pressure. Not likely to return. This place needs attention!
So much potential! Right next to 9-hole golf course. Numerous horses on property pastures. Owner just purchased property last fall. Restrooms and showers need upgrading. We enjoyed our stay, will return. Owners looking at offering travelling horse facilities and possibly horse ride and golf packages in future. Spent few hours visiting with owner and learning history and activities in area. Broadus, MT is nearest town (3 miles). We enjoyed our stay.
Excellent. Location on the lake was wonderful. Bit of a chore getting here, with over 6 miles of rough gravel roads. Our 24' class B van really shook and was totally filthy from dust and gravel. That being said, this is a beautiful park overlooking gorgeous lake and trillion dollar view of snow capped mountains. With kayak, canoe, and boat rentals together with abundance of hiking and fun for all.
First of all visit Florence for eating, superb waterfront cafe off 1st street, what a treat. Park very nice. Downside was "firebugs" around camp sites with continuous obnoxious heavy smoke from green wood burning. Strong winds blew all over. Restrooms and showers very nice with exception of smokers who refused to smoke outside. Park ranger stated they rip signs off so they (rangers) don't put back up, go figure. Overall very nice park, would return.
California state parks are too expensive for state parks. Beautiful view of wonderful lake, winding rode to get to park. Real downer is having to pay for showers instead of having time valve. Especially when park employee turns one of the site water spigots on full blast and then leave for over 30-minutes while it runs! Overall great place to stay overnight or vacation at. Would return, wish it wasn't so costly.
Trim trees and brush; obstructs entry. Old tired park. Many permanent residents in very old campers with too much junk laying around. Restrooms and showers covered with flying insects. Too expensive not worth dollars.
Horrible, wouldn't return if FREE! Dirty unkempt showers, restrooms. Must enter smoke filled casino to cashier cage to sign in for site. Site paved but next to food distribution warehouse with noise well into evening. Parking lot was local kids raceway with ATV and pickups.
Awesome park in every detail! Met by the owner, superb attention to our needs. Unbelievable view of Santa Fe evening lights. Restrooms, showers were exemplary. Other RV'ers were most friendly. All size rigs from 45' mega-land yachts to our 24' Class B. Park recommended by our neighbors back home: wow what a treasure. Absolute value for $$$$.
What a wonderful surprise. This is one of those jewels we all look for and rarely find. The owner and has put wonderful touches throughout. Restrooms are super clean, only drawback is hot/cold water balance. Good Sam only discount. Definitely stay again.
Only discount thru Good Sam Club. Would have higher rating but park had huge occupancy of contractor/construction workers, thus family-friendly atmosphere was overshadowed by vehicle traffic and heavy use of facilities by many who appeared to come from adjacent construction sites (as evidenced by numerous signage stating restrooms, showers, kitchen facilities for park residents only). We really liked the park and facilities but uncomfortable as stated above. Probably would not return unless changes made.
Had site overlooking lake, beautiful for one night stand. Located few miles in country from town. Management friendly. When asked about RV club program discount rates, owner stated he gives all clubs same rate. Would stay again when passing through. Paid Passport America rate.
Gorgeous facility that is quietly located in forest. We had a site in one of many cul-de-sacs style areas. Although we were told sewer hookup was not avail, we noticed many surrounding RV in same lot had hooked up to red painted ground fitting. Showers and restrooms we used were in new amphitheater complex by store. Drawback at this park is pay for showers, 1 Loon for 3min, 2 Twoony for 6 min. All sites wet from heavy snow melt and rains prior to our arrival. Overall we would love to return.
