Proximity next door to Six Flags is a bonus. Noticed some back-in sites are tricky due to old growth trees. Staff was friendly and helpful. Store is mostly t-shirts, cups and other knick-knack stuff. Good news is a Wal-Mart is about 1 mile away (past Six Flags on the frontage road). Any near-term travelers approaching from north should know Hwy 109 is closed to traffic (bridge repairs) and I would recommend approaching the CG from the north (I-64/US-40) by way of Hwy 141 (multi-lane, good surface). Definitely do not try to come in from the west on Fox Creek Road (tight, two lane "road" with plenty of twists and turns).
Great park - wouldn't have made our 9th trip back otherwise. Obviously some don't catch on to the name and are surprised by this being a family and kid-friendly park. My kids love each trip, everything from the waterslide and pools to the numerous activities planned and well-run by the staff. Never a problem with level or foot traffic, but we always ensure a spot on the upper part of Woodland Way. ;)
As RV parks go, this is a nice facility. We stayed here to make day trips to Baltimore and Annapolis. Given the close access to the beltway and I-95, the park still provided a nice degree of calm. Nice pools, nightly movies, hot tub, RV equipment store.
Spent a week on a family vacation to hit the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Downtown Disney. Good experience all around and saw everthing from tents to 40' Class A rigs. We were in the 1700 loop (pet loop) and had no problems getting around on the bus, boats, or by truck. We thought about a golf cart, but decided against spending $50 a day for it. Noticed a couple campers showed up and had issues with the utilities layout at some sites. Make sure you have an extra drinking water hose, extra sewer hose, and an electrical hookup extension. Two folks had to move their rigs off the concrete pad just to get the electric connected.
Good owners - overall nice spot. About 1/3 was taken up with seasonals, but all the units were well maintained and there were no problems. As mentioned in another review, no pool or playground - maybe not the best spot for kids...KOA is just down the road, but it is right next to I-95. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly go back as an overnight spot.
We stopped here twice during a recent trip as an overnight stop on the way to and from Florida. Very convenient from I-95. Traffic noise was not bad and the owners are doing alot of work to spruce the place up. It used to be a KOA and it was an absolute dump! Big changes and the owners plan to cater to the overnight crowd, so things like playgrounds, pools, and other "stuff" won't be added/fixed. On a side note, the CG owns the adjacent lake - spent a late afternoon and caught a couple bass...a nice surprise stress reliever at an overnight stop.
