This is a good park if you have a boat. Lake Jocassee is one of the most beautiful lakes in the Southeast. For mere camping, except for fishing, the park offers very little and is somewhat remote. This is a family favorite in Fall, and should not be missed if you are in the area. The early springtime can be somewhat bleak. Note that currently the lake is down about 35 feet as of September 2008.

If you are looking for a quiet park with basic water and power hookups, Twin Lakes is a good pick. Many sites are available that have virtually complete privacy. For those that want the more communal aspect, there are also sites that offer close by neighbors. Beware that as of October 2008, the lake is in dire straights, and running out of water. It is down about 15 feet at the moment. Luckily, the park is on the main river channel, so you will still have water access. Other than that, Twin Lakes is a nice park.

Nice park setup in a valley; this is just such a beautiful area. The park was very clean and we were able to get a site that backed up to a "creek" for about $5 extra per night. The creek had no water to speak of, but being backed up to the green belt was still nice. If not against the green belt, there are a few trees in the infield, but not many.
