This is great park for families and kids. Grass, ponds for fishing and paddleboats, 2 mini horses and a mini donkey for kids to play with. The Wi-Fi is not so great, but we got several TV stations with the antenna. The showers are large and clean. There is a lot of noise from the nearby road. The large trees are great. Would stay here again
I didn't find this park in any directories, just happened to drive by it and pulled in. What luck! A beautiful spot on the Dolores River. The tent sites are on the river. We got a spot on their large fishing pond that comes off the river. Lots of large, mature shade trees, grassy common area with horseshoes and firepit, grass at camp sites, cable TV worked great, got to watch Game 7 of the NBA finals, Wi Fi works great, Sprint too. There are showers, and a laundry room, and large rec room. Lots of long term RVers. I can understand why; it's a perfect spot. We decided to stay a 2nd night and check out the town of Dolores, 2 miles down the road. Will definitely stay here again.
We loved this park. Pulled in at dusk, no reservation, there was a sign that said to pick a spot and they would see us in the morning. Woke up to lots of big apple trees, and 2 donkeys and a llama at the fence, so green and clean. It's a small park, but nice bathrooms, laundry, the store carries a freezer full of local beef steaks and chops at a very reasonable price. The Wi Fi worked great. Would definitely stay here again.
The North Rim is a hidden gem, not nearly the number of tourists you'll find at the South Rim, and much prettier. The elevation is 8200 ft. Thick ponderosa pine forest, clean, sweet air. You can even schedule a mule ride into the canyon, on the spot, where as the So Rim you would need a 6 month reservation. The sites are all pull-through, with lots of space in between sites. You get a picnic table and fire pit. The park service store is great, lots of groceries, camp equipment, clothing, expresso and soft serve ice cream. We were surprised at their prices, very reasonable. We saw deer, buffalo, and antelope. The lodge and cabins are historical and well kept. There were ranger programs and nature walks avail. Will definitely stay here again, only longer. We got in without a reservation, but it's best to go online and reserve ahead of time. I think we just got lucky.
This is a cute, clean park with a very well-stocked store with groceries, jewelry, clothing, souvenirs, and very reasonably priced. There were plenty of spots available with grassy areas, trees, a small pool, pavilion, showers and clean bathrooms. The Wi-Fi works great, and we got 22 channels with the antenna; got to watch the NBA finals. They offer a BBQ dinner that sounded good, didn't order it. Would definitely stay here again
Hubby and I drove through here in late afternoon, hoping to find a vacancy, and there were several. You drive through and pick your site, then go back up and deposit your payment in the envelope provided. Very quiet and peaceful with tall pines and brush. The site had a picnic table and firepit. You have to drive across the main road to go to the General Store to buy firewood and take showers. Nice, well-stocked store, and the shower was $2 for 8 minutes, very ample. You can walk to the shuttle pick-up station and see all the best sights from there. Would love to stay here again.
