Very big campground--almost too big. We camped with a waterfront view by the small pier and while the view was great people felt it was OK to cut through to get to the pier instead of walking around. Maybe the staff can put in designated pathways. Lots to do: three pools, adult pool, crabbing fishing, mini-golf, rental power boats. The camp store is one of the best I have ever seen and the cafe served some of the best fried chicken too. Check in was easy and staff is everywhere. My rating would be higher if they had more planned activities for kids and spread the sites out. You're on top of everyone. The sewer connection should sit more flush with the ground and not 6 inches high. We did have a lawn ornament taken in the night and there are kids everywhere on bikes with no regard to anyone else. I realize this is where parents need to step up however the park staff can enforce the rules. The pool was cloudy and the prices at their crab and veggie stand is high. We went to a guy outside the park and got 100 clams for $20. At the campground it cost $40 for 100. We would stay again.

If you're looking for a place within minutes of Colonial Wiliamsburg and Busch Gardens, this is it. However, be aware of trains that go by several times a day and night. They are literally within feet of the tent sites and some RV sites on the other side of the park. Also, sites are very close to one another. We had to move because we could not open up our awning because of the slide next to us. Staff was friendly enough and the laundry facilities were adequate. Pool is small and the camp store is OK. There is a trolley that goes by and can take you into town for sightseeing. We just unplugged everyday and drove. It saved time on waiting for the trolley and all the stops.
