We have to really disagree with past posters, we really enjoyed this park. Our site was private with nice trees on either side. The whole park is quite wooded and it definitely does not have a parking lot feel. The office staff were friendly, garbage bins cleaned. This park is very close to downtown Halifax and Peggy's cove. Would highly recommend the bakery you pass along the highway to the campground. Don't grocery shop near the camp there is a great big superstore near by (7 minute drive) in Bayers Lake Business Park, also here is Fred's Fish & Chips restaurant (behind Jungle Jim's restaurant) which has great food and Newfie fries!!
We don't give out 10s lightly but this one deserves it for the view alone! Ask for the full (3-way) sites which overlook the ocean. The sites are close together but I don't think they are very busy so you should not feel squished. You are a 2 minute walk from a beautiful red beach which has a life guard. The ferry is a very close drive and is a fun way to get to the island.
It is a standard KOA, very close to Cavendish activities. Highly recommend Avonlea (Anne of Green Gables), you can stay there all day and has a great afternoon tea! As for the KOA, it has a jumping pillow and a daily kids program from 9-11. The only complaint is that you have to get a new WiFi code every 24 hours, which is a pain!
Let's start with the positive, the owners are nice, sites are new and the city of Galveston is a wonderful place to visit (try horseback riding on the beach which about 10 minutes away from the park). When we were here there were many children who were not being supervised and were loud, rude and made our pool experience very difficult. We were traveling with our 2 girls but we always make sure they are being respectful. We really feel the owners need to make parents more responsible. I agree with an earlier poster that they need to hire more help because on 3 occasions we could not find them to ask questions. Also they advertise waffles as continental breakfast but do not offer it anymore during the week (they need to change their web site!). Overall an average stay, but I guess for being on the road for 7 weeks now (8000 miles) and crossing Canada and the USA this is our first real disappointment.
We had a great 1 night stop-over here, right off the HWY. Sites are nicely spaced and lots of grass and trees. The owner is super nice and really made us feel welcomed, our two girls loved the ice cream he gave them!!! It was a perfect stop from a long drive from Las Cruces then the next day a short drive into San Antonio.
We had a great time here. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The reception area looks like a hotel and the outside space is well maintained with iron chairs/tables and fireplace. There is no pool but the hot tub is very large and my 2 girls felt like it was a "small pool". We had an end site which was large, private and had a patio set. The price also includes a breakfast bar which was a great added bonus. We had a fun visit to Old Mesilla the land of "Billy the Kid" and had a great dinner at La Posta (you get a lot of food!!!)
This park is perfect for visiting Disney which we did everyday when here. It is exactly a 15 minute walk from RV door to Disney, very safe walk along a busy road. They do have a shuttle service ($3.00 per person) which leaves Camp at 8:45/9:55/3:30/6:30 and leaves Disney at 3:00/6:00/10:00/11:00. So we did a combination of walking for early entry and shuttle, we did 1 cab and it was $10.00. The park staff is very friendly, clean, has a pool and a great RV wash. It is right off the HWY so would be easy access to other theme parks in the area. Overall a great stop to see Mickey Mouse!!
This is a great campground which is perfectly located half way between Vancouver and Jasper right off Hwy 5 (Yellowhead). Only 30 minutes from Kamloops. Sites are shaded under tall trees with the mountains in the background. Owner is very friendly, facilities clean and price reasonable (Good Sam Discount). Free Wi-Fi with a strong signal. We will be back when visiting the area again!!
We were very pleased with this park. It is small and has some shade trees (which is difficult to find in the prairies). Friendly office staff, clean, and enjoyed the little extras such has complimentary breakfast (bagels/toast), free movie loaning library and my girls even got some popcorn to go with their movie. We stayed at the alternative park in Regina which we found very crowded!
Camp is very close to downtown Ottawa, a 20 minute drive to the Byward Market. Sites are close together but very long. No activities for children but there is a pool. A good place for a short stay close to Ottawa. We would stay here again.
The staff at the front check in were so rude that we decided not to stay here. We went to another camp across the city which we were very happy with. I strongly feel that the staff sets the tone and we were not comfortable here.
We loved this KOA. It is very family and pet friendly. What we really liked is that all activities, i.e. bingo, jumping castle, special bbq's, ice cream sundae socials etc, are all included with the nightly rate, no extra costs which are typical at KOA's. Owners are very friendly and make this a very welcoming place. Very new deluxe sites have wrought iron table and chairs, above ground fire pit, colored gravel and nice landscaping. Yes sites are close together but so are most KOA's. We will be spending many weekends here.
