We stayed at this campground with the NJ Good Sam Samboree. Samboree was great with our friends and NJ puts on a first class Samboree. Our issue is with the campground and the dump it has become. We have stayed here before and it was cleaner and better maintained back then. The bathrooms were disgusting, no fans (they had sided over them) so they were hot and disgusting and smelling; showers barely worked. The electric was so erratic and kept going out. It was deplorable. The pool was tired and the paint was flaking off of it. They nickel and dime you for the waterpark and other items. This park has taken a turn for the worse under Morgan Resorts. This is one of three Morgan resorts we have stayed at and the story is the same at all of them; no upkeep, rude and under staffed.
Clean park, nice sites. The hill down to everything is a killer for kids and bikes: had three accidents while I was watching, just on the hill. The security guard is a grouch as well as the night time guys. There are A LOT of rules. We put our fire out, we were a group relaxing and enjoying our night talking with citronella candle, because the bugs were bad. The night guy and his posse of 2 others came over with a bucket ready to put out our candle. Heavens its not a fire! Then proceeds to throw, yes throw, a copy of the rule sheet in my lap. He said to us, "You signed it, don't make me have to start asking you to leave." WOW what did I say? It was like this the whole weekend. Heaven forbid you toe the line or look at some of the staff funny. We watched a woman walk by the hot tub with her baby to talk to her husband who was in it. She had a cover-up on, and the life guard was on her like white on rice within seconds about the kid can't be in there. I doubt we will return, it wasn't relaxing with all the staff on you like a hawk.
Poor dirt roads in need of serious repair, not a big rig friendly spot, 30 amps service, supposedly new owners. Fuse box is locked, so you have to call when you blow a fuse, can't turn off power before you hook/un hook. If you like dirty sandy, shady sites with lousy access then this is for you. The place was filthy, roads were narrow. I don't know how some of the people even got into their sites
Park was clean and well kept. Owner addressed some rowdy kids quickly and effectively. Small playground. We stayed down by the fishing pond and it was nice. Only had water, electric, cable, but it was more then sufficient. Reasonable price for a campground near to Dorney Park (20 minutes). New play area for kids could be bigger but it was clean and nice.
Nice clean park, the new pool with slide looks to be awesome. The new "Big rig" area was very easy to access, no trouble swinging our 40' MH with toad around into our site. They do need a playground by the new big rig sites.
