Lots of secluded sites for very private camping. Some road construction going on at entrance, not easy to navigate into, had to circle around a neighborhood first. Water was across the street and although there is no bathing or dish washing at the water pipe, I didn't expect to get reprimanded for wetting my toothbrush on my way back to camp. Beautiful area though, and close to Aspen and a gorgeous drive up to Continental Divide if you're heading that way. Amazing area, average campground.
Clean restrooms, and nice area, but we had a difficult time getting stakes in the ground for a tent and you need bug spray being so close to the river. The price seemed a little high, and the showers were $1 for 4 minutes. We found the staff was extremely helpful and kind. We heard from some locals that swimming in the river wasn't a good idea, so we didn't attempt it. Convenient to grocery stores, McDonald's, and town, however the train that passes through the town is sure to wake you up!!
Diamond Campground and RV Park has extremely clean showers and bathrooms, and plenty of shade trees around the sites. It's easy to navigate into the campground and very quiet and relaxing. Everyone we talked to was pleased with their camping experience and so were we! We decided to stay a few more days then we originally planned. We had easy access to internet and full cellular service (AT&T). Water access is convenient and Buddy the yellow lab mix appreciates you throwing his stick when he sees you. We think he's a host dog.
