This was our first year here.. and we will be back again! Stay was over labor day weekend. This is a very nice family "resort" campground. We floated on the river.. lounged in the hot tub.. Kids went down the water slide.
The best part of this campground was the location. We had our dog with us. Dogs are allowed on the "fishing" beach. The worst part about this campground, is the bathrooms. I actually told my daughter to hold off on a shower until be returned home! It was only a 3 night stay. Store prices are high! The campground is policed by the Massachusetts State Police, which we found to be very friendly.
There is no roughing it with this campground. My daughter had a blast with the activities and three pools. We had a very nice site with some privacy. The bathrooms were clean, staff friendly, store prices reasonable. The campground is within 2 miles of the Cape Cod Canal and a short drive from some great little towns. We will be going back.
What can you say about this campground except location, location, location. If you enjoy sitting, walking, fishing, on the side of the Cape Cod Canal, then this is the place for you. If you are looking for a campground with a "resort" feeling, then this is not. There is no pool, and no you can not swim in the canal. Some sights are tight, and you can not request a site upon reservation. We did have a great site and will be going back again.
This year we tried a few different campgrounds. The advertisement for this "resort" looked great. We arrived for a 3 night weekend and from moment one we were disappointed. The pine trees are so overgrown that hardly any sunlight gets through. The sites are small with no privacy between sites. The bathroom by the camp store was clean, but the one in our area was filthy. The same paper that was on the floor when we arrived was still there when we left. My daughter joined in on some activities, however she had to pay extra for this. I can see that this could be a great place, but they need to give it a "freshen-up".
