Lovely park on the Methow River and very nice owners. River has great fishing but is only catch and release. Convenient to both Twisp and Winthrop. Very nice showers, plenty of hot water for three quarters which gives you reasonable time for a shower. Our only "complaint" was that the large garbage bins were directly across from our site and were swarmed with those tiny little flies, which also invaded our RV. I think it would have helped if the bins would have been placed on the other side of the restrooms where there weren't any RV sites. We were in site #32. Next time we'll book in another section of the park. Oh, a big thing for us. The Wi-Fi connection was really good even though we were on a far end of the park.
We'd certainly stay here again. Nice, private, back-in campsite with plenty of room for our 26' fifth wheel and slide out. Site #43. There is a wonderful nature walk that we enjoyed every morning and every evening with incredible views of Mt Adams. We didn't use the restrooms or showers so can't rate them. No Wi-Fi or TV and cell service is spotty, but that's OK. We can do without for a few days.
Lovely and large pull through campsite with water and power. We were in site #4 and would select this one again. The dump was conveniently located on the way out. We didn't use the showers because we couldn't find it!! They weren't even marked on the park map. On the way out, we finally located the shower but it was a very long way from our campsite. This campground is probably best if you are fully self contained (or don't care about showers!). Even so, we'd stay here again.
Beautiful setting right on the lake. Campsites are adequate with full hookups, and views of the lake. Some were right on the lake. The bugs were horrendous, but this was Minnesota afterall. The restrooms were not all that great but the staff was terrific. A couple young guys were camping near us in a tent. They were total slobs (but friendly and very nice) and left piles of garbage and beer cans strewn around their campsite. The owners didn't seem to mind at all. One nice thing that happened. It rained one night. I mean RAINED. The owners came down and invited the two tent campers to sleep in one of the vacant cabins for the rest of the night. I thought that was very nice. But I wished they had also asked the men to clean up their site. We didn't complain as it was obvious the owners could see the mess and equally obvious they really didn't mind. So we just ignored it and enjoyed our stay in that area of the state.
Actually a lovely park with nice sites. There was even a fenced in dog park in the middle and a kiddie play area. Our site had a cement "patio" and table with umbrella. The ONLY problem I had was the price. $49 was outrageous for amenities that we were used to paying about $35. KOA has really priced itself out of our budget at most parks.
I can't say enough about the people who run the Oakdale KOA in Wisconsin. Fancy? No, I guess by some standards it isn't. But, it was beautiful with big trees, large campsites, everything spotless and extremely friendly and helpful staff. We had a major problem with our 26' 5th wheel in Illinois. When we tried to hook up the front stablizers wouldn't come up. Finally, my husband was able to manually pry the stablizers up a few inches and lock them in place. Just enough so we could leave the RV park (which we were desperate to do, but that's another story). We located an RV park in Oakdale, WI. I called and explained our situation, that we needed a pull through spot. We could't unhook as we couldn't lower, or raise, our front stabilizers. And we needed the name of a place that we could take our rig in for repairs the next day.(it was Memorial Day 2007) When we arrived at Oakdale KOA the owner came out and said he was putting us in two back to back pull throughs but would only charge us for one site and we could stay as long as necessary! He also offered to give us a lift if we needed to go anywhere. We ended up staying there 3 nights and were able to get our rig fixed the next day. I know that many KOA's are becoming so overpriced and service seems to be deteriorating. Not this one. I can't recommend it highly enough. I guess if you need fancy things you may not like it here. We tend to like the homier places where the people are nice, the facilities clean and the surroundings lovely. This fits the bill to a T.
