Great campground. The "Hauntoberfest" activities during the month of October are excellent. There was trick-or-treating, costume parties, campsite decorating parties, free crafts for the kids, karaoke, haunted hayride, etc. Fun for all ages. We were in site U45 and it was great!
Great campground. My wife and I have a 6 year old and a 3 year old and there is plenty for us to do. There were daily activities at the pool area including a rubber duck race! The amenities are nice; pool, lake, playground, snack bar, ice cream parlor, store, laundromat, etc. Great place to ride bikes! Interior roads are good and sites are level. All in all an excellent place to camp. We will revisit yearly!
Always heard KOA's were nice. This campground leaves a lot to be desired. The interior roads were horrible and the sites were extremely narrow. We have a small fifth wheel and with our one slide out extended and the awning open, we were too wide for our site. The playground was small and rusty the pool was "heated" but the heater was broken. The office wasn't well stocked and there were no activities. If you are looking for a campground to spend time in with your family, this is not the one. If you are looking for a quiet place to spend a few nights while you take part in activities around town, this campground is sufficient.
Fantastic campground. Owners are friendly and helpful as well as staff. If you have kids, this is the place to go. Activities daily almost on the hour. Never a boring moment. Sites are level and roomy, interior roads are average, pool is nice and swim lake is fun. The James River runs by the campground where tubing and canoing is easily accessible. My family considers this our home campground, even though it is three hours away from where we live. I highly recommend!
