The Wi-Fi doesn't work from 6:00-11:30 when the park is full because so many people are trying to use it. If KOA would just stop packing everyone in like cattle I would stay at them more often. If we opened our window we could have touched the trailer next to us. They had plenty of sites that were empty to spread everyone out in so I just don't get it. The bathrooms are nice and clean, lots of stuff for the kids to do. I just hate that you are nickel and dime to death with the little paddle boats and the lay-down bikes. I mean at $70.00 a night give us something more. Because of the price we won't be back. The pool is nice but we came to this park to go to Niagara Falls, so we didn't even use it. Besides, at $70 we can get a hotel closer to the falls. The purpose of camping is suppose to be cheaper for families, I don't think that some KOA's are getting that memo.
They aren't suppose to have water hook-ups but they didn't say anything to someone in a motor home that hooked their water hose up to the community water. The motor home must have had a hose that was at least 75 feet long, but they got away with it. No one ever seemed to be at the gate so you could just drive into the campground and camp anywhere that was open. The quite hours were not enforced. Our bathhouse was broken so we had to drive to another one, and some campsites had 3-4 cars at them to where they were half way on the road and it was hard to get by them. The sites were big and nice. They all had fire-pits and plenty of room and privacy. I'm not sure if we would go back just because that park seems to draw the type of people that don't respect rules or campground property.
These sites were huge! You could put 2 big trailers on each site. They were so nice. The bathrooms were close and very clean to everyone. The staff was nice and friendly. It's a beautiful park. I wish someone would have told us that you have to bring your own fire-ring to have a fire. There is lot's to do at this park. Something for everyone in the family. We will defiantly be back.
I loved our site, it was very private and big. They have bushes that give you a secluded feeling on some of the sites. The bathrooms were very clean. Showers are .75 cents for the first 3 minutes and .25 cents for every minute after that. Make sure you bring lots of quarters. This campground is near the middle of everything. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about everything. I hope that they put in a small camp-store soon so you don't have to leave the park for ice and wood. The park offers a great playground, tennis courts, volleyball and a big area for anything else you would like to do. We would definitely go back.
The previous campers who had bathrooms in their trailers were probably unaware about the bathrooms. My husband saw human waste on the walls; the woman's bathroom had an over flowing toilette with brown water running from the toilette to the drain in the floor. It smelled like backed up sewer. The drywall was also just set up against the wall. It was slum for camping. The 2 big dumpsters for garbage was over-flowing. Bags of garbage ended up on the ground, which camper's dogs were eating and no one seemed to care. It looks like they are putting up a play structure from a McDonalds that wasn't finished, so it had orange tape around it. The pond was all brown and disgusting. The second bathrooms had the doors open so bird droppings were all over the stalls. The birds use it as a bird house: it was so gross. It just looks like they have too many projects going on at the same time, that aren't getting finished. They have a nice pool, a great baseball field with an electric score board and a roller hockey/ ice hockey arena. To me it seemed like one of the owners is into baseball and hockey, and the campground pays for it. If they knocked the bathrooms down and build new ones, and kept up: then this place could be a gem. The sites were big, but on the downside you had to share an electrical hook-up, so make sure you have at least a 50 foot electrical cord. It's so shady that there is lots of (moss) on the trees, that gets onto the camper and/or tent. The Wi-Fi didn't didn't work, which makes me wonder if they really have any. We were packed up by 8:00am and ready to leave, but since we got here at 6:00 on a weekday they had already left, so we were suppose to wait to check-in and out in the morning. They were suppose to open at 9:00 am but we left at 9:00 and no one was even here yet. We would never return and I would warn all others not to go. I hate to say that since this is someone's business, but I wished someone else would have warned us.
We had a great stay. The sites are very big; lots of room for all trailer sizes and chairs, etc. to enjoy the day. The pool was nice and big with a small slide for the kids. The park is centrally located to all sorts of amenities. We went to Canada's Wonderland during the day so I can't comment on what the park is like during the day; however, it was nice and quite at night for sleeping. There is some noise from the highway, but not much. The staff was very nice and accommodating for our late arrival. They even offer a half day so you don't have to rush around all morning to be out at 11:00.
