We camped here the week before July 4th, and the weekend of the 4th. The park was at capacity, but it was still nice. No problems with noise even though it was full. Fireworks show at Kawliga bridge down hwy 63 was great. Probably 1,000 boats or more in the water was an amazing site. This is probably our favourite park to stay in and always enjoy camping here. Lots of activities, from karaoke to bingo, to scavenger hunts for kids and adults.
We camped here for our first trip of the year on March 20th weekend. This was a wonderfull trip. We were able to camp with friends next door and hiked several of the trails available. A few sites are really too close. We were on site 39, and it has a site across the road. The campers awning was out and I had to back in my site from reverse angle. If I had not had a 5th wheel, I could not have backed in. That needs to be fixed, but all in all a great park, and a really great state park to visit.
We camped here over the Labour Day weekend and had a wonderfull time. The park was nearly at capacity this weekend and no problem, not to loud. As I have said before, the only thing that keeps me from giving this park a 10 is they need more sewer, and cable would be nice. TV reception is not good at all where we were. But, with that said, this is one of the best parks I have camped at, and plan to continue coming here years down the road.
Over all a nice park, just thought $32 a night was a little high.Could be since it is a koa park. Gravel roads, and sites. We didnt have a problem leveling. Host were very nice, and lead us to the site. Not a bad overnight, just not sure what would be in the area for an extended stay.
This is a great park. I have never given one a 10, but I think this cg rates it. We were on the creek and had ducks visit us everyday. The only improvement could be, the sites marked a little better, but surely not anything to complain about. The staff was great. I has a small electrical problem the first day and called the office. Less than 5 minutes a service man was there and took care of it. Clean, easy in and out. Quiet , even as close to the road as we were. I cant say enough good about the park. This will be our place to stay when we are back in Pigeon Forge for vacation. Wifi was good and free. Many staff people going around painting picnic tables, doing maintenance, and trash pick up at your site .
Where do I begin? I have been mislead from the start. I haven't camped here, but have had a very bad experience. I made my reservations in Nov '06 for June '07. I was not made aware the rates were going up the next year and was charged the higher price. When I called to question it, the manager told me they didn't have to give that info. I should have asked. They charge you 20 bucks each time you have to change your reservation, no matter how far out. I was going to have to pay 56 bucks extra for 2 kids, on top of 58 bucks a night. I drove through the cg last trip to Townsend, and it is not a resort. They have gravel interior roads and gravel sites. Not what I would consider a resort. I camped this past week in an Alabama state park with asphalt sites and roads. That is what you would expect in a resort cg.The lady manager is not overly welcoming, and told me point blank I WOULD NOT receive a refund, even after I explained about being mislead the entire experience. Buyer beware. Read the other reviews. There are nicer cg's in the area for less, and much friendlier management.
We have camped at this cg several times , and always enjoy it. This is a nice clean city run cg. The park next door had Christmas lights up , but we didn't visit this time. We hiked from the cg down under the falls. There were several nice views. I meet a reviewer that had posted for last November while we were there. Very nice couple. Some sites are to small for comfort, but overall sites are fairly nice sized. Just be careful in choosing if they will let you. The rate is with tax on a Good Sam discount.
This is an excellent park to get back to nature. No frills, but a beautifull park. The tree's were in full color. I made some postcard pictures around the lake. As said before, if this park had a playground for the kids and full hookups, it would be a 10.
We camped here for vacation this year and loved it.There were a lot of campers, probably half full or more, but the park was still quiet. The showers and restrooms were cleaned every day. The host rode the park and greeted people and picked up odd things laying around. Rangers patrol the park on regular rounds. There was a slight problem with the older boys yelling off color remarks at my daughter, and friends. I called the desk and a ranger dealt with the problem promptly. There was not a problem after that. I would rate this park a 10 if it had more sewer, which is suppose to be added next year from what I understand.Great park, great people, and we will surely be back many times in the future.
We camped here again Thanksgiving. My parents were able to join us this trip and everyone had a great time. I really enjoy this cg and was able to go ice skating this trip. We will be coming to this park many more times .This is well worth the trip. Not far off the interstate.Very easy in and out.
This is an excellent park. The only reason I dent make it a 10, is not all sites are sewer hook up. There are many things to do within walking distance to the park. Golf, ice skating, water park, driving range, and batting cages. There was a Civil War reenactment the Labour Day weekend that was very good. My kids enjoyed the park greatly. Great area for riding bikes, everyone was friendly. The host is very friendly and welcoming. The staff is very nice and helpful as well. This park is run by the city and patrolled at night by the city police. This will definently be a destination for us in the future. Even with all the things near the park to do, we had no problem with noise. Its very quiet at night.
This is the first time camping here and we enjoyed it. The sites are comfortable sized for the most part, some are small. The park is very quiet and patrolled. There is a few things to do ,like going to bald rock, the pool which is clean and nice. There is a lake about a mile below the restaurant and camping area with paddle boats and fishing. The cg could use a little updating in the playground and a few sites were not extremely level. Take something to set your sewage hose off the ground, some of the pipes are 6-8" off the ground. We saw 3 deer going into the park and people up a few sites had deer almost in their site.We camped here with several friends from church, and had a good time. We will be back to this cg.Be warned, it is a hard pull up the mnt.Lots of curves and hills.I think you go up @2000ft from the time you pull off the main highway.
This is our 4th time camping here. This one one of the best trips. Our daughter's 11 birthday camping trip and we loved it. Pool was open, and very controlled, campers only with a pool pass bracelet. Only complaint here is some sites are really close. A38,where we camped has a large grass area on the back side of the camper, but would have been very tight if A37 was occupied. All in all a great cg. The park is very nice and has a new entrance. Also has a new put-putt course that is alot of fun, and only $5 for adults. Very well worth the trip, and convenient to town.
We camped here on May 12 with friends for their first trip. I really enjoyed this campground. The only reason I didn't rate it higher, is the cg needs more sewer hook ups, they only offer 2. They also need a playground for the younger kids. Campsites are large and private. There is enough space between most campsites, that another site could be placed. I will definitely go back. Large lake for fishing, with boat access. There is a small swimming area at the lake as well.
