Very big and busy park on the shore of Lake Superior. Sites range from tent to Class A-size tucked in everywhere. Great location in town and on the water. Class A maneuvering was tight but did OK. Was not able to connect to wireless. Saw several folks on laptops near office. Verizon hotspot worked fine.
Rate and comments apply to new class A section only. Three terraced rows of RV sites each with a view of Burlington Bay on Lake Superior. Great ore ship watching. Paved Roads and gravel sites. Each site has two sets of full hookups so pull in or back in for your best view of Lake Superior. Was not able to connect to their WiFi but Verizon Hotspots worked fine.
Small park with great possibilities if they would only do a little tree trimming on the entrance drive. Not very big rig friendly. My motorhome is 12' 6" high and I barely made it in and out without damage. New Glarus is such a nice little destination town and there are no other RV parks or Walmart nearby. Park is older and worn. I did not check out any of the bath facilities if they had any. Hookups are shared between two sites. On a post between the pull-through sites are four 30 amp outlets and four water hose hookups so the RVs pull in head to toe to connect. Water and electric were fine. No cable but got several local channels over the air. A dump station is located in the park. I found a free Wi-Fi that allowed me to connect. Sites are grassy, gravel and level. Grass cutting was OK. Grounds were clean and uncluttered. Park is located behind the Town Edge restaurant which closes at 2 PM. Call the restaurant for reservations. Cash or check, no credit cards. I would have been quite happy at the Town Edge RV Park and given a better rating if they had only done some tree trimming at the entrance. A State Park is located about 1 mile south. I drove through the state park to check it out but sites are suitable for an RV of any size (think tent sites). State park has pit toilets and no hookups and no showers.
Neat and clean RV park. Easy big rig access. Had a pull through site about 100 yards from office. WIFI was quick and snappy. Office help was very helpful. Seems to be mostly seasonal campers but we arrived at end of the season (late September) so things were kind of quiet. All the sites we saw were clean and not cluttered. Water and electric were good. Bring your fishing rod. Check out the wall of successful fishermen in their office. They have some very nice fish in the lake. Private lake so no license is required. I did not use the showers or laundry so I can't comment on them.
