What a jewel! We are spending 4 months in the area to visit our daughter and meet up with other family members and this place, even though it's a bit rustic, is in a great location in the city, hike and bike path and lakes are a few steps away. I love this place, and the owner/manager, Nancy is a true blue angel. Lovely person! I would have giving this place a 10, but it doesn't have a pool/hot tub and not paved.
Location, location, location! What more can I say. This place is in a great location - close to downtown, hike/bike trail, shopping, restaurants, you name it - it's close to everything! But don't expect a pristine park. It is very quaint, tight spaces (we couldn't get our awning out more than a few feet), but the neighbors are friendly, polite, and the manager is very helpful. Most residents live there and some RVs look pretty run down. We have a 38' 5th wheel and a dulley club cab truck and they both fit snug in the space. We loved waking up every morning to the birds singing - didn't even know we were downtown Austin. We also felt extremely safe in this park. We stayed at Pecan Grove for a week and would love to be one of the permanent residents.
Great people, great park! Definitely a park used by others on their way to and from another destination. The lots were very wide and long and level - staggered so you are not looking in to your neighbors living room window. Large field in back to walk your dog, or stretch your legs. Owners were great! If you stay there you must stay for the all you can eat pancake breakfast - it's only $2.50 + tax. We will definitely stay there again!
Stayed here Saturday night of Memorial Weekend. Very crowded with lots of families with children. Lots of entertainment for the families. Lot was very long, lots of lush grass, and the fenced dog run was shaded and our dog loved it. Never used the restrooms, but grocery looked like it was well stocked. It was a bit expensive for one night, but we felt very safe and enjoyed our short time there. We would definitely stay here again on our way through.
Two thumbs up on this park! The manager is delightful! And very helpful. The spaces are huge, but no grass, which was not a problem for us as we have a large outdoor rug. A lot of park models and permanent residents. Everyone very friendly, and lots and lots of activities. The pool and spa is very clean and heated - a wonderful treat! We are staying a couple of months at $540 month + electric (some lots are $510/mo). Has a great fitness room, card and puzzle room, huge assembly hall, lots of washers and dryers, inside mailbox room, and nice pool hall. If you stay here grab one of the activity calendars and join in with the fun, especially the Saturday beanbag baseball!
This is one of the cleanest parks we've ever stayed at. Most slots are shaded, but we stayed in one without trees (#165) which worked great for us as we used our dish satellite. This park allows you to wash your RV and/or vehicle, or you can use a service which we did for $50 and they did a great job! The dog walk is in the rear and very small. I took our boxer across the street to an open lot. Hubby still works and we had Baja internet hook up at our site and it worked great and good price. Not many activities at the park, so I was bored. The monthly rate is $310 + electric. You pay in advance and no refunds. The only reason I gave the park an 8 was that it did not have a pool, and not many activities. The park is close to post office, grocery, restaurants, hiking.
Extremely well run park! Beautiful view of the city lights and starry sky. Very level paved lot, bathroom was warm and very clean. The park has a small grocery and propane. It has a spa and free breakfast, but we only stayed the night and left early the next day. Will stay here again and hopefully have time to use the spa and enjoy the breakfast that is served 8-10AM. Park is on the west side of the city so we had an advantage of missing early morning rush hour traffic when we left.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Gravel roads and space was level and ample room for our 38' 5th wheel and truck. Lots of grassy area to walk our dog. It is close to highways and a TA truck stop, but we did not hear any loud sounds. Looked like a lot of semi-permanent residents. We thought they were oil or construction workers. We stayed one night and would definitely stay again. It was very easy to find and get in and out of. It is on the west side of Oklahoma City.
Certainly a no frills RV park, very easy to locate, get in and out of as the spaces are level. There is a large grassy area beside the hotel in front of the park that provided our boxer plenty of space to roam and these are the reasons I give the park a 6 rating. Gas stations are close by for fueling. We've stayed here twice in the past 3 years.
We stayed 3 nights and had time to explore the park. Loved the dog park which had plenty of agility toys for the dogs and benches for people to sit. The park has a section closed as they were improving lots and sowing grass. Park was fairly empty otherwise. Great hiking paths: not very long, but scenic. We changed our site as we had a newly installed dish we wanted to try out. Slots were very level, park was very close to sights and major highways. We would definitely stay here again. We parked in a 38' 5th wheel and had plenty of space for our coach and truck.
We camped here for 2 weeks during Christmas and New's Year while visiting family. Great value, friendly staff, great location, and ample hiking trails. Loved the proximity to dining and shopping. We have a boxer and he loved the open space. Parked close to a unheated bath house and although the water was hot, our showers were short. One bath house within the park was heated and we used it once. New Year's weekend had a lot of people in the park. We will definitely stay again.
Primarily for the view and location, this is a great RV Park. We camped 4 nights (lot B21). Plenty of space, excellent internet connection. Lots of dogs and for the most part, people picked up after them. Bathroom was a little outdated, but we heard the showers were hot. Staff were nice and helpful, easy walk to town and Zion Park and laundry was large ($2 per wash or dry). Also went geocaching - great finds! We would stay here again.
Great value, great management, great location. The Park is 7 miles out of town, nestled in a wooded area with large lots. Great dog walk area - our boxer loved it! Managers were extremely helpful with directions and ensured we were able to hook up when we arrived after dark. The pull thru slots are 30 amp only, and were easy in and out. The only thing we would like to see at this RV Park is better signage on the road. We would definitely stay here again.
Park is easy off and on access from I-40. We arrived late and left early so we didn't get a chance to explore much of the campground. We dined at the restaurant and our steaks were cooked just the way we like them - medium rare. The camp store was well stocked with both groceries and supplies so we didn't have to leave the park once we arrived. The lot had ample length to fit both our 34' 5th wheel and truck so we didn't have to unhook - which was great! The lot was level which was also nice. Good dog walk area along the side of the park. Be careful if you venture further out in to the desert as there is broken glass on one of the paths. We have a boxer so he enjoyed romping around the desert on our walks.
Moab is a beautiful area and we had a great time hiking the area parks. We were very disappointed with Spanish Trail. A few things we look for in an RV Park are ample lot space, good pet walk, and a family atmosphere which we thought the Park had after reviewing their website. The pull thru lot we had was short for our 34’ 5th wheel and we had to park our truck across the back part of the drive, blocking our back view. The lot was extremely narrow. It did include a picnic table, but we refused to use it as it was situated next to the neighbor’s water and sewer hookup. The pet walk does not have lighting, so if you are out there at night, take a flashlight and watch out for the black pipe crossing the path – I tripped on it. There is also debris in the middle of the dog walk and a carcass in the back corner. When I asked if I could walk around the outside perimeter of the campground with my dog, as I am a walker, I was given a stern reply of “No” and was told to walk around and around the dog walk area only. I gave this campground a “1” because I didn’t feel the campground was family friendly – no activities, no pool, or place to have a campfire, or to sit a grill. The only place to sit outside was a confined space in the rear of the campground. This campground is definitely for the non-outdoors RVers or over nighter – we did not see any of our neighbors out and about. It is very controlled as I saw people watching the campground from the window in the office. Wow! I felt very uncomfortable – is this area safe or it is managed by control freaks? Would I stay here again – NO! Would I recommend this RV Park to anyone – NO! We discovered there are several RV parks in Moab, some that are not listed in Trailer Life, and look more to our liking. We will definitely be staying at one of the nicer RV Parks on our next visit.
