Campground was beautiful. Sites were nicely spaced and located in the woods providing privacy. All sites are located along the creek. We sleep in our minivan when we camp and the creek provided nice background noise. Rate reflects Good Sam discount. The owner was very helpful and friendly. He spent a significant amount of time helping us plan our route through Alaska and providing good suggestions for campgrounds in other areas. The only complaint we had was the bathrooms/showers. The sites will cost you 30-40 a night (depending on how much of the site is along the creek) but the showers are not included. Add to that bathroom facilities are severely in need of renovations. Despite not showering the previous day we choose to skip the showers at Tolsana. The bathroom stall doors did not provide complete privacy as the plywood was warped. We would definitely return as long as we weren't wanting a shower.

Stayed here in a minivan. Rate is for a tent spot without electric. Also had a Good Sam discount. Showers and bathrooms were clean, hot showers were nice. Laundry room was clean as well, however pricey. $3.00 to wash, $3.00 to dry each load. I don't know how that compares to other camps in Alaska as this was our first laundry day. Tent spots are in a treed area that provides shade and decent privacy. There are also a few shaded RV spots near the tent area.

Had an excellent time at this KOA. The only reason I didn't give a 10 is the the men's showers could use cleaning/updating. The women's restroom was recently painted/nicely decorated, but the showers also looked older. Not the worse I've seen, and they had plenty of hot water. Also, it would appear the dog owners were using our grassy site as a dog walk - poop was all over. As for the owners - we didn't get the chance to meet his wife, but the husband was awesome! Had a pleasant conversation with him about our trip, and he was more than willing to give us information regarding area roads, even going so far as to check Pass conditions on his personal computer. He made certain to direct us away from the dangerous passes to the safe ones, and told us where we could spot moose in the area. He was very accommodating on helping us choose our site - we needed electricity so he gave us a choice between the river or by the animal pasture (we choose 26, all grass by the pasture). Will definitely stay here again!
