The setting for this park is beautiful with all those trees. And you are smack in the middle of Arlington with everything you need a short drive away. On the positive side, it's a very pretty park and in a great location, prices are reasonable, showers are fine, laundry is great. The two negatives (for us) were that we arrived when the leaves were still falling and so the very day we arrived, they ran gas-powered leaf blowers and gas-powered vacuums ALL DAY. The noise was unbearable, but what are gonna do with a thousand oak trees whose leaves are falling? Their utility vehicles were really loud too. Second negative, and again, only for us who own a prey driven dog: those oaks mean LOTS of squirrels. The dog was on alert all week. And a previous poster who complained about walking your dog in traffic, I kind of agree with that. The staff were friendly and helpful, the other campers seemed friendly, so in all a positive stay, just noisy. Would come back again, just not in the fall.
This park is easy to get to. It's off a toll road, however the fees are very low. It was delightfully quiet at the RV Park. It's a very open, small park, gravel/dirt, no trees to speak of, with mostly long-term trailers. However, we were not put off by that because it's got a nice feel to it. I had called in advance for a site and spoke with staff. When we were about 40 minutes away, she called to tell me she'd be away when we arrived and she wanted to give me the site number and said to just pull in. I thought that was nice. The bathroom has 2 toilets and showers, but there are no doors on the toilets, so it's either for a family or one person. The shower was roomy, the water was warm and flowed well. I always wish there were more hooks for my towel and clothes. I would definitely stay here again for an overnight. We paid the Passport rate of $12.50 (the entry field didn't allow for the .50)
Very convenient location right off I-20. Flying J just up the road. Big speed bumps in here, so drive slow. Bathrooms clean and showers good size. Toilets and showers have curtains, no doors. This is no longer a Passport America park, which was too bad because that was why we stopped here. My bad for not calling to confirm. Nice area to walk dog and seemed free of goatheads. Windy today, but not nearly as dusty as towns just west of here. Decent overnighter park. Train noise and interstate noise, but didn't bother us, we live right near both at home.
Lovely park. Very clean and quiet. Fun Bark Park for the dog. Note: before you make the turn off the main road to O'Kelley, note the gas station on your left. It's prices were .30 less than closer to the highway. But if you leave the park the way they suggest (turning left out of the park) you'll miss that station. But if you don't need gas, their suggested route will take you further east on 10, which you might prefer. (We paid the Passport America rate.)
We stayed here last night, just 6 days after the last reviewer, and for us, it was very quiet. The showers were nice. The site for the rig was fine. Big area right nearby to walk the dog. Was perfect for a one-night stay. The hosts were very pleasant.
