Coastal Haven is a rather new RV Park. It opened it's new facilities the winter of 2007 - 2008. The central "community building" is the only amenity at Coastal Haven. The bathrooms and laundry room are among the best we have experienced - excellent job. Otherwise, not sure why the RV Park is called a resort - no pool, no cable TV, the WiFi barely works in many locations and no nearby beaches or attractions other than a nice Wal Mart 4 miles north. Coastal Haven is outside any city limits on County Road 32 which is a very noisy road - even late at night. More suited to retired snowbirds than families on a beach vacation.
Overall a good RV Park while on business in Pensacola or for retired persons looking for a basic, friendly, convenient to most all things park. The owners, Gene and Joan Jones, are wonderful folks and maintain a safe and quiet environment. The rear or east end of the park boarders an active railroad track. The combined bath house and laundry room is not air conditioned and is very uncomfortable to be inside on a typical Florida summer day or night. The bath rooms accommodate only one person at a time. Nothing is provided to dry hands on. The bath rooms do not get cleaned daily. The bath house entrance has no walkway - it is over uneven grass lawn that floods terribly when it rains. A typical Florida summer down pour will flood the campsites with an inch or so of water that will take an hour or so to drain away.
This RV Park is much to do about nothing. It calls itself an RV Resort, but offers relatively little. The spaces are small and poorly laid out, there is only one restroom/shower facility (located within the fence of the pool thus limiting its access to the hours of 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.), the rec room remains locked because can you "imagine what kids would do to it?" and the WiFi which is promised as a perk for the cost only works in certain areas of the park - and if you want to use it and can't get it at your site, you can "sit outside [in the sun] and use your computer beside the internet pole." All in all, a very poor facility for top dollar.
