Now this is a KOA! Very friendly staff! Mostly nice shady sites with long pull through sites. As the late arrivals arrive the staff has the great forward thinking of leaving a site open between you and them without stacking everyone on top of each other until they have too. Very clean facility! Surrounded by corn fields, very country feel. Easy access to highway with no highway noise. We would definitely stay here again.
Not a great KOA experience. We found it very tricky to find the entrance, glad we had a GPS. Gravel road exterior and interior made it very dusty. Reservations made 45 days in advance, arrived at noon and was put in a site that was uneven and would barely fit our rig. We drove past 6 open concrete pad sites getting to ours and I asked the attendant (they called her grandma or great grandma) that took us to our site why I couldn’t have one of the sites with concrete and she said she didn’t know. As evening came the late arrivals got the good sites. And yes it rained that night, knocked down the dust but made it very muddy around our narrow gravel site. Oh let’s not forget the wrecker yard 20 feet across from our site with trucks pulling in constantly throwing dust. Didn’t make me feel real safe either but that’s what a concealed handgun license is for. Last but not least it seems the trains come through around 3 am and their horns work pretty well. We won’t be staying here or even close unless we have to be towed to the wrecker yard. My wife wanted me to leave finish on a positive note and complement the nice dog run they had.
Rate was Passport America. Staff was very friendly. OMG the road going thru Guthrie to get to the RV Park was extremely rough. RV Park was OK for a one night stay. Sites were gravel / broken concrete, very narrow and uneven. Thank god the RV Park was on top of a hill as we got some breeze with the 107 temps. Sites are right on the golf course, the par 3 golf course looked pretty interesting, even with the rate at $5.00 per person it was way too hot to even think about getting out there. We have to try it a different time of year. Just not sure if we would be back.
Staff is very friendly! Our site needed to be mowed, fire ring / BBQ pit had tall grass in it, had to move before I could use it. Picnic table was located to far from site and too heavy to move. Still a great place to stay no mater if its overnight or for a week. Keep in mind that during Trade day’s campground is extremely crowed. We are experimenting with different sites and will always stay here when heading west.
Very nice RV Park!! Free BBQ dinner Saturday night and the shuttle service to Trade Days was an unexpected treat. WiFi service was $5 day. Longest pull through sites I have ever seen, over 75'. You get some highway noise if the wind is blowing the right way, not bad. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We will stay here again.
Probably one of the nicest parks I have stayed at. Staff was outstanding with check-in and helping with getting setup at your site. Park is very clean and well maintained. Large concrete pads with picnic area and fire ring for when the weather gets cooler.. 50% of the sites seem to be monthly rentals located on the opposite side of the lake. We would absolutely stay here again!
Typical KOA, park was clean and well maintained; staff was very friendly and escorted us to our site. Store has a mini restaurant to order quick take out. Road and pad are gravel which makes it a little dusty. Easy on and off I-10 and far enough away you don’t here any traffic noise. We would stay here again.
Park is very clean and well maintained, staff was friendly. Sites were very close to each other. Road and pad are gravel which makes it a little dusty. Only complaint was dryers in laundry room took a couple of hours to dry clothes. Easy on and off I-10 and far enough away you don’t here any traffic noise. We would stay here again.
Very easy to find right off I-10. Some highway noise but not bad. 11" of rain in the last 30 days therefore most of the sites were holding water. Check-in was friendly and quick. Were were allowed to move to a different pull through site after we discovered we could not put out our awning due to trees. Great place to stay for a couple of days.
Nice, secure, clean RV Park. If you want to stay around the lake and away from the highway noise do not use the online reservation service; call the RV Resort. The online service puts you around the outside regardless if you pay for a deluxe spot. The back-in spaces have more room than the pull through’s. We stayed here a week and will stay here again on future visits to Houston or the surrounding area.
If your from Texas you might want a concealed hand gun license, very scary. Park has several permanent old campers. Sites are very small, could not extend our awning as it would hit the RV parked next to us. 5mph speed limit is not enforced so be prepared to eat dust. One permanent resident races around the RV Park early in the morning in his car while holding his dog leash out the window letting his Doberman Pincher run along side the car to get exercise. Property was not mowed during our stay: get ready for mosquitoes and snakes while walking your dog. Train shakes your unit all day but at least they don’t blow the whistle late at night very often. No trash cans, and no security (I did not leave anything outside).
Stayed overnight with two RV spots, heading to Talladega, had easy access to Interstate. Sites were a little small but it worked out ok. Water pressure in showers was incredible. Laundry room very clean, one dryer took a little longer to dry a load. Had very nice and helpful people running the place. We will stay here again next year.
