Best all-around state park we have camped in. We camped in Pa Co Chu Puk area, on the Uncompaghre River, downstream from the dam. The other camping area is on the lake itself, and there is an additional day use area at the upstream end of the lake, where the river comes in. Boating and fishing are great, caught two nice rainbows in the lake and a large brown trout in the river, which is catch-and-release. Nice walking trails, and a very clean laundry and shower facility. We stayed 3 days, and we will stay again if we have the chance.

Very nice, clean, quiet park, considering proximity to I-15. Shower and laundry facilities above average. Friendly and considerate staff. Good choice for a travel stop. Convenient to Provo suburbs and Utah Lake for recreation. Will stay here again.

Generous, level sites with asphalt pads and shade--sheltered picnic tables. Fair amount of pine and other trees, considering the desert environment. Several good hiking trails. Lake level is extremely low due to the drought, but this is a great base camp for visiting Carlsbad, the caverns, and the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens State Park. Verizon 4G works great, 3 or 4 bars of signal.

This park is all about the San Solomon Spring, which flows roughly 1 million gallons per hour, and the huge swimming pool that was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) over seventy years ago. The campsites are clean and level, the pull-throughs are worth the extra three dollars per night, and you get cable, if you like. Wonderful stop for anyone going cross-country, or anyone who likes a good swim. Pool is open 8-8, every day.
