This is a very nice park sitting right on the beach with great views. The sites are small but land on the beach is not cheap so if you need a lot of space this is not for you. We had no problems with a 34-ft motorhome and no problem parking our car. You are close to town to go for supplies or bring them in with you. Yes you are right by LAX and we enjoyed watching the planes with my 2 teenage daughters and picking out the different models of planes. Don't blame the campground for the airport, if you don't like the noise then go on down the road. The girl at the check in desk was great and got us a beach view site. This is not a resort but a very nice family campground on the beach and close to town. We will stay here again.
This is a great State Park, very clean and taken care of. The campground is close to the marina and has great trees all around. The sites are very good, had no problem with a 34-ft motorhome and car: did not have to unhook if I didn't want to. The town of Morro is very close and we had a great time down by the docks. The campground host was great and his site was very clean. We will stay here many more times.
Do not understand the bad remarks, this is a great campground with nice and helpful people. We came in on a Monday when the first big storm was coming in from Japan with rain and wind. The guy that checked us in came right out and helped me back in and get hooked up in the rain. We had no problems with a 34-ft motor home with a car. Stayed here 3 nights and would stay again. The walk to the beach is great and the showers and laundry room where very clean. This is not a resort: it is a great family campground. There are full time units here but everything is clean and there's no trash. If you need a great park outside of San Francisco, then stay here.
This is one of the best campgrounds we have been to, site number 77 backs up to the creek with a swimming hole and swing rope. The site is huge with lots of shade, we have a 34 ft motor home and the space was great. Very clean park and restrooms, the staff where some of the best we have seen. The lady in the office spent a lot of time helping us in where to go site seeing, the airport at night for a sunset is great. We had no problems with the low voltage and lets be fair folks city construction on the roads is not the RV parks fault. The road is narrow but a large rig fits fine if you know what you are doing, and its just about 2miles to deal with. This is a great park and the surrounding area is great.
This a great park. OK there is no shade but they make up for it. There are paved roads in the park that are very wide. There is an escort to your site. Sites are wide and long--no problem with a toad. Lake was great as my teenagers went kayaking a lot. Pool is clean and the restrooms were very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. We will stay again, and knowing it is close to the interstate helps.
This park has a lot going for it; shady sites that are paved, the lake and beaches, plus the water park. Park is clean and the staff is nice but could have been a little more helpful in finding our spot which had been give to someone else, but no big deal; we worked it out. The bad is that bathrooms need help, very outdated and not clean. We would stay again knowing we use the motor homes bathroom. The rating I gave is because of the bathrooms. Everything else is great.
Great Texas State Park with level sites, lake view, and shade. Park ranger was great helping us find a good spot for our motor home. Very clean park. Kids loved swimming in the lake Restrooms are clean but could use a remodel. We will be back to this great park.
Great state park with views of the sunset that will bring you back. Host was very helpful and moved us to a pull through site as we had a toad. Park is clean and well taken care of. The reason for the 9 score is the bathrooms could use a remodel, but that's all. We will be back.
This is a Great Park, very clean and taken care of. Office and meeting rooms are nicer then some high end hotels. Breakfast in the morning; showers are private with doors that again are like a hotel. Grounds are very nice and the best dog walk area I have ever seen. Close to I-10 but I had no noise. We walked to Cracker Barrel. We spent one night there the same time the last review was there and the staff treated us like we were the only ones there. We will be back. Nothing to not give a good review on.
This is a good overnight park, very close to interstate 20 but we had no problem with the noise. Old KOA park. Staff very nice and helpful. Nice pool. Bathrooms and showers are clean but old. There are signs up that they are going to remodel them. Gravel roads and level sites with good hookups. I had no problem driving in and making turns with a 34ft motor home and a toad. We would stay here again as an overnight stay.
I do not understand the last review, good paved roads in the park with pull-thru easy parking sites, no problem with my 34ft motor home and a toad that I did not unhook. We have two dogs and everyone we talked to or saw had their dogs taken care of. Staff was great and helped find my wife's wallet. Showers and laundry room where very clean and they did have two washers and one dryer that they had problems with but they where replacing them. It is a family park so yes the kids where all around which means you have to be careful no big deal. Pool and beach where fun and had a great time. Views of the lake are great and nice breeze off the lake. We will stay here again.
OK folks, this is a great park. First it has been here a long time, but the staff have up graded and keep the grounds and bathrooms spotless. We stayed here 10 days with a 34ft rig and toad and had no problems parking. The roads are narrow, but if you can handle your rig, it is not a problem. And when you do pull in other campers are more than happy to help. I had my awnings out and so did my neighbor and we had plenty of room. Also when we were there two coaches over 40ft pulled in and parked with no problem. The sunset views are out of this world over the bay. They have jet ski and boat rental. You are in the heart of Destin but would not know it. It is very quiet and the staff is great. This is a military campground which is nice because it gives you a chance to say thank you to the people who have served. We will be back and hope to stay longer. Great park.
Great park with fantastic views of the lake. Site was a pull-through. Lots of shade and a fun park for the kids with the lake right outside your door. Picnic spots for our site was under a tree and right by the lake was great. Staff was very nice and helpful. Bathrooms could use an update, but they are clean. We stayed a week and will be back.
I do not understand the last review as we stayed here in a 34ft rig with a car and had no problems getting in our site. The weekend we stayed the park was full, and they put us and some friends in sites next to each other. The people at the office when we checked in and out were very nice and helpful. The bathrooms do need some work, but the lake views are great, and the pool is fun but they do charge. Also that weekend I rode around the park on bikes and saw rigs bigger then ours that had no problem from what I could tell. We had a great time and will stay here again.
We had a back in site right on the lake with great views, a nice deck, fire ring, and dock. This is a nice shady clean State Park with a great staff. The pool you have to drive to but no big deal. It is a little run off Highway 10 but worth it. We will be back and stay longer next time. Bathrooms could use a remodel, but they where clean.
Very nice and clean park close to town. Sites are gravel but very well taken care. Staff was great and there was a a nice rec. room with pool table and air hockey. Showers and bathrooms where clean. The reason for the 9 score is we booked on line and did not know the pool was closed for repair. Would stay here again.
