We stayed here after our truck was having some issues. We were headed for Titusville and we were all packed and on the road. There was no way I was going to cancel especially when the kids had their heart set on a weekend camp trip. We are locals and I was one exit away when I remembered that there was a campground ahead. So instead of turning around and heading home, we exited. Upon arriving, we were greeted by the campground staff. They were very friendly and went as far as helping my husband back in our trailer (still have issues after 2 years!!!). We have stayed at many campground before but nothing come close to the cleanliness of this park. The bathroom was beautiful. They were ultra clean, granite vanities, hot showers and always stocked with t.p and paper towels. The clubhouse had many board games and even a nintendo wii for those rainy days. The pool was crisp, sparkling clean. My husband, the kids, and I loved the ping pong table. It was quiet, and relaxing. The sites were spacious. We will definitely be returning in the next 2 or 3 weeks.
The location of the Barnyard RV Park threw us off a bit because it was behind a flea market. It wasn't hard to find though. Upon arrival, check-in was a breeze. The campground was clean and the sites offered plenty of space. We only stayed overnight but it only took us one night to find that the bathrooms were up to date and clean. There is no pool but that was okay since we were not there for too long. It was a nice quiet place to stay especially when you're exhausted from a long drive. They had cable hook-ups and there was a decent variety of channels. There was good water pressure and no problems with 30 amps.
From the moment we pulled in it was easy to see that this campground was beautiful. We arrived early afternoon and checked in at the office. We were greeted by the very friendly owners that gave us all the info on the surrounding areas. I loved how we were also given all the best kept secrets of the area. The bathrooms, pool, playground and laundry room were immaculate! The campsites were pretty level and kept clean. We spent almost 2 weeks here and we really had a hard time leaving. Smokybear is located about 15 minute from downtown Gatlinburg where you'll easily find places for groceries, restaurants and tons of shopping. Hiking was awesome thanks to wonderful advice! We hope to return next year for a longer stay.
