Don't waste your time if you are bringing a 38-plus motorhome or fifth wheel. Sites are poor at best, very unlevel and not maintained at all. Roads in camping area horrible. If you are coming in a class C or smaller trailer and tent, more options. Bathrooms need re-do. Staff was friendly. Park seemed very run down. Too bad, because it is located in a nice area.
Nice park, nice staff. Well worth the stay. We ended up staying 2 weeks. Sites fairly well maintained. We had one of two 30 amp outlets not working. Called office, within 20 minutes maintenance had it repaired. I stayed in a 40 foot RV and had a fair amount of site options. Great trails. If you need to restock on food, plan on driving 20 minutes to LaGrange. Best grocery options.Local restaurants reasonable. Of course Calloway Gardens very close and a must see. The only negatives of this park is that they do allow tents in 40 foot plus sites, which can limit your options as far as larger RVs go. Also, water pressure very low. My gauge registered average of 38 psi.
Pro:Trails, Forest Cons: Minimally maintained, no camphost, 24 HR security not true, very unlevel sites, bathrooms sub par, electrical power at sites inconsistent 20-50amp, only 1 site 50 amp, #23; road in campground in need of major repair; If you come in with 35'+ motorhome or trailer, only 3 sites leveling doable. Private Company took over management a year ago and are doing nothing with campground; Actually had a family shooting pellet gun at bottles in middle of campground. Too bad, I have been a regular at this park, no more.
