We loved this park! Neat and clean, plus friendly neighbors. The site was large and easy to back into. The roads in the loop are paved and can get a bit tight, and a couple of branches had started to hang a little low, but we cleared them. A lot of the shaded sites, we could never have gotten into, due to low branches. We forgot to check the restrooms, and never used them. Easy drive to Fort Pickens and enjoyed a day there, a lot of history! The beaches are amazing!! The water was awesome blue! We were in loop A, which has fewer sites than the other loops. Most sights were taken throughout the week. There seemed to be more available sites in the other loops. The camp store was nearly out of ice on Monday afternoon, there were only 2-3 bags of ice left, but was restocked later in the week. Rangers were very helpful at check-in. Can't say enough nice things about this park! We can hardly wait to go back!
This is a clean and neat park. Very well maintained. The sites are long enough for coach and toad. No tables, but level sites. Some of the pull through sites can be a bit close. Our neighbors awning was less than a foot from our window. But I didn't notice anyone else with that issue. There is no "golf course", no putting greens. Just a chipping course. The trains run day and night. By the third night you get kind of used to it, the 3:30 AM train woke me up every night, but the husband slept through it. We were with a rally, and they were very good about keeping us parked as a group in nearby sites. The kitchen was very nice and clean, as were the restrooms. The do sell propane, but no other supplies.
This is a huge campground, and some of the sites are VERY close together. The site we were first given was a pull-through, but frankly it was too close to the other rig for us. (Made us uncomfortable to be that close to another camper). We called the office and even though it was short notice they worked quickly to find us another site. It was a back-in site that was long enough and wide enough for us to be comfy! One of the best things about this campground is the ease in which you can get transportation and/or tours to D.C. The buses come right into the campground, and the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. If ever going to D.C. this is the place to stay! We would stay here again.
Pretty level gravel sites. The owners are extremely helpful and friendly. The night we were there they were having a BBQ, and told us about it at check-in, and also came by our site to remind us. The park and people were charming! Huge sites. The site we were on didn't have sewer, but we were only there for the night. We would come back here for sure! Very friendly, helpful and fun!
We stayed here as part of a rally, and the price reflects the rally price. Good interior roads. They do not take debit or credit cards. It's cash or traveler's checks only. (Which resulted in us having to pull out and drive to Arcadia to get cash). Only 30 amp service. No A/C in the Rec Hall, I can't imagine how hot it would get in the summer time. The Wi-Fi was awful, and had to use my phone for internet connection. It was clean and well maintained. Large lots. Overall a decent park, but there are others that provide cable, reliable Wi-Fi and 50 amp service for the same price. I don't think we will be back to this park.
Rate reflects rally price. This park is beautiful, although it is huge and walking to clubhouse is a very, very long walk, from all sites. If you don't have a toad, golf cart or bike, be prepare to hike! The sites are huge and the entire park is very well maintained. The wi-fi is only available in the clubhouse and no cable hook ups either. This is the only reason I didn't rate as a 10. You would think a park this nice would have both of these.
Very friendly staff. We stayed here on our way from FL to NC and stopped on the way home too. We couldn't get our dish to get a signal due to one silly tree in the way, but on the way back we had a different site and connected to satellite without a problem. Some sites only have 30 amp and some have both. Nice level sites. The interior roads are a bit small, but you can maneuver through.
This campground was very nice and staff was extremely helpful. They drove us to the site and directed us for backing in, I didn't even have to get out of the coach! A friend was arriving later than us, and they were not able to get level in the site next to us, the campground quickly gave them the option of changing to a nearby campsite and gave them several options. We would stay there again when in the area.
