This is a perfect park if you want to visit Stone Mountain for the amusements and its historic side. But it is a terrible park as parks go, with broken asphalt on the roads and sites, and sites are very unlevel. Stay away from lane M. I think Lane F is the best. Rate is high but includes free park entrance for your entire stay. Office staff was friendly, but could not move us due to overcrowding.
Friendly staff, easy access to campground and sites. 15 minutes to Thomasville, GA. Hard grass ground site with some shady sites. Had no trees at our site so had easy satellite access. Would stay here again.
Price includes GS discount. Very nice park and friendly staff. Escort to site. Some long stays present, but everyone welcomed us and seems very family oriented. The campground is owned by a family and is well maintained. Would definitely stay here again.
Once you get through Savannah from the North, park is easy access. Nice hard surface roads though out park. But, a large RV will have to be very careful driving through the park, sharp tight turns. Many pull throughs and spacious. Easy and quick access to downtown Savannah 12-15 min drive on 4-lane. No satellite coverage, too many trees. Would stay here again.
Large easy access park with nice hard surfaced roads. Friendly staff and escort to site. Many long stays, many friendly snow birds, and Canadians. Our site was hard ground grass, but 30 amps only. We had request and reserved 50 amps. It didn't matter because weather was great and 30 amps was sufficient. Just 10 minutes to Daytona Speedway. We stayed here for the Daytona Good Sams Rally. Would stay here again.
This is a very nice park. Park rangers were very helpful. Access to campground was very good off Harbor View Rd. Access to downtown Charleston easy via James Island Expressway - 12-15 minutes top. Roads in park were hard surface, with all sites back in, fairly level and spacious. No satellite service due the large amount of trees. This is a beautiful park to bike ride or hike in. Numerous good safe trails. We were there while they were setting up the Christmas lightning, which is visited by locals every year. We had a night viewing by bike riding. This county park has many visitors every night. This county park has many visitors every day, that far exceeds the RV community. This is a park we would definitely stay in again.
Camped here 3 nights. Easy access to park with nice blacktop roads. Roads in the park and campsites are hard surfaced with shell and sand. Never had a problem with roads or campsite. They are really packed well. Our site was next to the beach dunes. We had a wonderful view of the ocean. Site include a table and cabana. Most sites on the ocean side are pull through, but all others are back-in. Staff was very friendly. Park is full on long stays from September to March. Many park homes. We would definitely stay here again. There are many activities in area and nice restaurants.
Stayed here because of its 10 mile location to the Biltmore Estates. Not an easy park to locate. It has gravel roads and sites. Staff was friendly and escorted to site. Our gravel site was not level and we had difficulty leveling with the dirt and rain. Elected to leave jacks up. Price is way to high for what you get even with GS discount. Very shady with no satellite access. Would not stay here again if I could find another campground near Asheville, NC.
Campground actually located in Rossville, GA next to a famous Civil War battleground. Access to park is on two lane road with good entrance. The park roads are gravel and RV lanes access are a little tight. Escorted to site. Concrete pad on gravel. Friendly park. Easy access to historic sites and restaurants in Chattanooga. Park a little pricey, but location to Chattanooga is a plus.
Entrance to this park was off of a four lane highway with easy entrance and exit. Many long termers present. All roads are limestone or gravel. Some dust accumulation on vehicles. It was an adequate park for a 1 night stay. The staff was very friendly and gave us an easy pull through so we could leave early in the morning. Site was large concrete pad large enough for 35 ft. RV and tow. Several big rig, pull through sites are available. Price includes GS discount.
This is a beautiful State Park next to Pontchartrain Lake. Easy beach access, nice sandy beach, and nice water. There is a pier and there are several 300 yr. old oak trees that make for very good family photo's. We stayed in the older section where there are pull through sites and back-in's. Newer section has mostly back-in's and is separated from the older section by roadway approximately 1/4 mile long. WiFi was very strong and bath houses were cleaned daily and well kept up. Park Rangers were very nice and friendly. They checked on us after we had parked to see if we were satisfied and if all was OK with connections. Great service. Rate reflects Senior 62-over rate.
