This is our "go to" park when visiting the Hot Springs area. It is so convenient to all that the Hot Springs area has to offer. We love the park and the staff is so helpful and friendly. The newly remodeled part of the park offers full hookups and extremely level sites. We were in site #62 and we didn't need to level "side to side" at all. During the springtime, the park really shines with all the beautiful foliage. They also have very nice hiking trails.
This is one of our all time favorite Texas state parks. We've been coming to the park for decades. We love the peace and serenity the park offers. We RVed there with a group of 20 from our church and came down to the park to cook for the group. Last year the park went through a total renovation and improved the infrastructure. Many of the roads have been repaved and smoothed out and all new restroom/shower facilities have been built. The park's staff did an incredible job renovating the park but keeping the "character" of the park intact and not changing it. My wife and I can't say enough good about Daingerfield State Park. Jefferson, one of our favorite Texas cities, is a short 30 minute drive from the park.
We've been RV'ing at Daingerfield State Park for decades now, starting out tent camping and finally in our present travel trailer. We were wondering how the year's total renovations were going to affect the "character" of the park. The new renovations in the park are fantastic. The sites in Big Pine are now very level and all sites in the park have full hookups. During the renovation process, all the old bathrooms/showers were torn down and replaced with newly built ones. Daingerfield State Park is truly a very special destination for us.
Lake Catherine has become one of our favorite Arkansas State Parks. We spent a week at the park during Thanksgiving and had an incredible time in the area. The park staff is wonderful and the facility is first rate. We needed directions to one of the local attractions and they were more than helpful in pointing out additional sights we needed to take in while in the area. We stayed in one of the newly redone sites that had a very level concrete pad. We loved the full hookups (water, sewer and electricity). Many of the RVers staying in the park had decorated for Thanksgiving giving the park a festive feel to it.
We spent New Year's weekend at the park. This is a wonderful facility with very level sites. The park hosts were very friendly and helpful. Wi-Fi connection throughout the park was adequate most of the time. We'll definitely stay at the park again next time we're in the area.
What a great park. We stayed on the Pin Oak Loop with a big group and had a wonderful 4 night stay. While there be sure to take in some of the many nature trails, especially the 1 mile boardwalk. We'll definitely stay in the park again when we're in the area.
We stayed at this park a week and would definitely stay there again. Our site was a bit tight but we were never at the trailer anyway except to sleep. One problem was we were close to the road so there was some road noise at night, but it wasn't a bother. Since we stayed a week, we received the 7th night free. It's a very quiet park since it is a 55+ community.
We stayed at the park for our 1st trip to Colorado. So many of our friends told us how incredible Muller is and now we believe them. What an incredible park and area to RV in. We had a fabulous time. The park's staff is one of the best we've encountered. The nightly programs in the amphitheater are very educationional as well as entertaining. We can't wait to return.
We stopped here overnight on our way to Colorado. The park was recommended by a friend who had stayed there before. What a wonderful park and you can't beat the price. They also allow RV washing at your site. We're booked in again for our return trip. Each morning breakfast is served in the clubhouse. In the evening there's a catered BBQ dinner. If you're traveling through Amarillo, this is a great place to stop right off Interstate 40 by Cadillac Ranch.
We just spent a wonderful 4 nights at this state park with a large group of friends over Memorial Day weekend. This is a fairly new state park with spacious shaded sites with level concrete pads. The area we were camped in had full hookups (electric, water and sewer). This is a recent addition to the sites in our area. Wills Point is also a nice town to visit with several good restaurant and a large newly constructed grocery store. This is a wonderful park to visit with several hiking trails for you to enjoy and a wonderful lake for water sports.
We stayed in site #19 in the "A" loop. What a wonderful time we had. We camped 4 nights. Tree cover in much of the "A" loop didn't let us connect to our satellite service, but we were able to pull in local channels for news and weather. All of the park staff we met were very helpful and we will return in the near future. We love the Arkansas State Parks.
We stayed at the park for 5 nights in conjunction with the park's "142nd Fort Richardson Days" celebration. We love this park since it is only 60 miles from our home. The park has a great staff and there's lots to do and see for the whole family. This park will become a regular destination for us.
What a jewel of a park and so close to the Fort Worth area. This was our first time to camp at the park and had no idea such a nice park was only 60 miles away. We really enjoyed our 2 night stay. We've already booked a site for the middle of April for the "142nd Fort Richardson Days Celebration". We are looking forward to the Civil War reenactment at the historical Fort Richardson site. The City of Jacksboro and the "Friends of Fort Richardson" have done an excellent job restoring all of the remaining buildings at the fort.
Daingerfield State Park is not the fanciest park in the Texas State Park system, but it is the park where we go to get away from it all and relax. We started camping in this park when we had a tent. We stayed 5 days over the New Year's holiday and didn't want to leave when we checked out on Sunday. It's been several years since we've stayed at the park and all was the same upon our arrival. The park was just like we had remembered it, perfect in all aspects.
We camped at the park for 2 nights while visiting my wife's parents. The park staff at check-in were very friendly and helpful. What an incredible gem of a park! The new renovations to the park that have been made are fantastic. We'll definitely stay at the park again very soon. Our site was right on the lake, #33. The site is highly recommended.
Wow, what a weekend we had camping at KL Ranch Camp. This is a hidden gem in the Texas Hill Country. Some of the sites are very tough to get into, but you can make it was easy maneuvering. We camped right on the banks of the Guadalupe River less than 15' from the bank of the river. We had a wonderful time shopping in historic Gruene. KL Ranch Camp does have a short camping season, March to September. We'll definitely make a return trip next Spring.
We spent a wonderful weekend at the park. The facilities were spotless. We'll be returning in September for another stay. It's nice to be so close to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. We spent 3 nights at the park.
This was our 2nd trip to Petit Jean State Park in less than a year. We stayed at the park 7 nights. We're hooked. Our site, #13 on the “A” loop, was perfectly level. The park is spotless and the ranger programs are entertaining and educational. We've already booked a return 7 day trip for March of 2009. We can't recommend Petit Jean highly enough.
This is a fantastic park, our favorite so far. We spent the week of Thanksgiving at the park. The new "A" loop is awesome. Our pad was perfectly level. While there we reserved a site for a May 2008 return trip.
We've been camping at Daingerfield for over 10 years now and it is by far our favorite Texas State Park. On our last trip, we camped in the Big Pine area which has full hookups. We can't say enough good about Daingerfield. A side trip to Jefferson is always a must!
What an incredible area! We camped 7 nights and can't wait to return. The park's facilities are great, there is so much to do, a railroad, horseback riding, trout fishing, you name it. We highly recommend the "F" loop. The odd numbered sites face the river and gives you a beautiful view of nature. We camped in F3 which is a huge site.
Birch Creek Unit is an excellent Texas State Park outside of Somerville, Texas. Some of the sites are shallow, but most are very well shaded and private. Be sure you tour the Blue Bell ice cream plant in Brenham.
