WORST campground of trip by far! Reason 1. The bathrooms. They only clean them once a week!!! You can imagine how disgusting they got before they got to them! By then of course there was no toilet paper nor paper towel. I think they also try to cut down on usage by only having hot water available for showers in the morning. If you want to have a shower in the afternoon or the evening you will have to deal with cold water. I also don’t mean luke warm water because the heater can’t keep up. It’s completely cold. Reason 2. The site itself. You might as well be camping in a gravel pit. The entire place is full of dusty gravel with a few plants and trees around. Every time someone drives past you have to cover your dinner or your drink. It does have a nice view of a couple arches (as the name suggests) and the mountains are there too, but you would get the same view camping in the ditch. Reason 3. The septic system. I’m not sure what is going on, but every so often a smell of raw sewage wafts though the camp. We checked all our connections and none of them were loose so I don’t know where it is coming from, but it is brutal. Reason 4. We left our pets in our RV as we went for a morning hike. We were then given a note by the old guy with the white beard when we got back to report to the office. They then told us that we could not leave our pets in the RV by themselves and said we didn’t have any air conditioning for them. Untrue as we do. Couldn’t leave them in that heat without. When I told them that, they said they were also barking. Well I don’t know of too many dogs that won’t bark at strangers looking in the windows of your RV. As they should! They didn’t even suggest the dog daycare available in town. They were perfectly ok with someone having to miss out on trips away from camp to stay with the pets. Advice. Spend the few extra dollars and go into the town of Moab and get a decent camping site that won’t complicate your trip and make you miss out on the beauty of Moab and Arches National Park!
