We stayed here on the way to Niagara Falls as a halfway point. Campground was very muddy and buggy. We were put in a muddy site which I wouldn't be able to get in/out of. Past camper left deep muddy tracks probably for same reason. Asked to move and was given a pull thru but charged the extra. Weekday stay, plenty of sites, thought they should have moved me since it was their fault for the muddy site. No activities here. OK pool. Wi-Fi only worked outside camper. Restrooms dirty. Won't return to this one...not even for a stop over.
We stay at KOA's often. This was by far the worst we have stayed at. We pulled into a muddy spot.We asked to move and were charged extra for it instead of having a move out of courtesy. Bathrooms were dirty. The campground very buggy. There is not much here. A nice pool was the only plus. We won't return here.
This is an awesome campground. It is 3 miles from falls. There are 3 pools..1 of which is indoors. It is very clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. We had a pull true with plenty of room. The back in sites are weird. It's a long site and you back up an inch from another camper. I wouldn't have liked that. The only problem with this and all KOA's is they charge for each kid per night.
We don't like this. The only advise..drive down town and park at skylon tower. It has the cheapest parking near falls. We sill return to this campground as we enjoyed it.
We love this campground. We come every year. Very cheap. No activities but very convenient to beaches and ferry to Block Island. This year we took the ferry, which is about 2 miles down the street, to Block Island for the day. Awesome. Campground has a huge site out back. All pull through. Plenty of room for extra cars. Nice paved roads for kids on bikes. Can walk dogs, really love this place. Awesome location: you can hear the light house and tug boat horns at night. Try this: you won't be disappointed. Full hookups in rear of campground.
We love this park. Nothing wrong with it. Huge playground for kids. Nice big recreation hall with indoor pool for winter. Bathrooms are immaculate. Staff helpful and friendly. My only issue, which will keep us away next year for the April vacation, was the cost. There are no activities and yet the C/G still charges a lot fee plus $5 a night per kid. So, I paid extra $10 a night per kid with no activities or outdoor pools etc. to entertain them. I think the kid fee should be waived when activities are not available. That is my only concern. It cost me an extra $100 for the 2 kids to only entertain ourselves.
Very Happy. This campground is very quiet. No activities this time of year but rec hall with some games and jungle gym for kids. Really, better campground for singles and those w/out kids. Nice, big spaces. Full hookup sites are a little smaller. 1 bath house was clean. Very friendly owners who help where needed. Nice and close to local cities w/beautiful site seeing spots. Check out Pumpkin Festival this time of year. pumkinfestival.org Close to fairgrounds which bus you into the festival. Festival was awesome. Food was incredible and very inexpensive. Gotta see this during the day and at night. Loved the campground and the quietness.
This isn't really a park, more a place to park. Sites were painted lines. Level enough but very small (looked like long parking spaces). Not enough room to open an awning or even fit your picnic table between sites. This place is great if you are there to see the Salem site. Convenient to those. trolley comes in and out. Great views and nice walks. Sits right on the ocean and sailboat inlet. Nice new play scape for young ones. No activities at all. No fires. Gate is locked at 10pm but a 20$ dep. gets you a key for late nights. Heard horror stories of staying on the pavement near the water. Recommend the field, little quieter. Take end sites however to give you more room. Bath house was small and typical state/city park bath house. Dump station outside gate. Very easy to get into and use. Good for the price if using it for the reason stated above.
This campground is under new management but still mismanaged. FULL of seasonal sites which brings it's own problems. Nobody walks in this campground. Everyone uses something motorized. Golf carts, scooters, mopeds, you name it. Also, age doesn't matter. Kids use these vehicles to play chase. Very dangerous. Campground is great for those who like to party. Felt like times square. Loud all night long. Not too impressed. Won't return to this one. Also, very buggy.
This campground was very nice for a KOA however way over priced. The first thing to turn us off was the charge per kid. Price only includes 2 adults as a family. No kids. I was disappointed in that. Should include at least 2 adults / 2 kids. Other than that everything was good. Drive thru sites outback are huge. Plenty of room for camper and 2 cars. Campground staff were very friendly and plentiful. Nice snack bar and store. Didn't use pool although it looked a bit small however clean. Water park outside gate in Saco. Easy and close to beach. Nice campground. We would return and can only hope they change their family policy.
This is a great little/convenient campground. The sites are a little tight but spend a little for a premium and it's fine. Also, end sites in other areas give you more room in front. Wi-Fi was OK...but slow. Pools were clean. Campground is well kept. Shuttle to metro comes into campground frequently. We chose to drive the few miles and park at metro. Also, if you drive into DC on weekend there's plenty of parking. Night time also. Store is great, has a huge RV part with everything you could want/need for the RV. We had a great time. Campground doesn't have any activities but we weren't there for the campground, we were there to sightsee. Been here twice this year and will return. Also, they offer AAA or Good Sam discounts.
Been here 3 year in a row. Great park, very convenient. Park offers half hour shuttle buses to front gate of park. Park has three pools. One for small children. Park is clean. Buy your tickets for Hershey Park at the campground and get a 3 hour free use of park/rides the night before. We arrived, ate dinner and headed to the park for the evening. Then got up and spent the next day there. Cheap tickets for park. Discounted at campground. Love this park and what they offer. We'll keep going back. Sites are good sized. All pull through out front. Out back the sites sit near a freight train. Stay away from that. Noise!! C/G has Wi-Fi which they give you free. I was able to pick it up at and inside my camper. I recommend this C/G. Nice inexpensive way to see Hershey. Kids had a blast. We went to park in morning, took shuttle home in afternoon for quick swim and lunch, then back at night to finish up. You won't be disappointed.
We were very happy with this campground. It was clean and well kept. Full hook up sites were huge; well groomed and grassy sites. Very nice. If you're looking for activities forget it. There are none. No pool or access to water. However, there is a beach 2 miles down the road. Also, the Block Island ferry is 2 miles away. Great park for the price. We enjoyed the quietness. We'll definitely return.
As always...excellent stay. Staff are plentiful and helpful. Campground is clean, well kept. Modern updates to playgrounds. Bath houses and showers are the cleanest i've ever seen...anywhere. They were cleaned many times a day. Indoor pool is an added positive during winter season. No issues or problems.
This is a pretty clean campground. No sewer but convenient dump station on your way out. Friendly however lack of adult supervision apparent. Only saw kids working during the weekend. Free wi-fi a plus but no cable a downer. Halloween weekend was fun. Only huge complaint that will keep us from seasonal here is the outward drinking. No coozie's, no solo cups. In fact..during a dance there were people passing a bottle like a bunch of hobo's. We pulled our kids from the dance for this reason. Kids need to stay young and innocent as long as possible.
The campground itself is top notch. The pool is good size, clean, heated w/plenty of chairs. The beach is great, floating trampoline and small (affordable) snack bar which gives you a good meal for your buck. Plenty of playgrounds for the kids. Plenty of activities. Nice mini golf course. Great campground all around. Now the complaints. Don't stay between sites 37 and 44. These are too close to busy route 2. Trucks all night long. Also, down below pins you up against the mini golf course. Another complaint, plenty of Wi-Fi at snack bar and adult room but none at the site. No cable TV also. Roof antenna works but not that well. One channel. Lastly, you can't walk your dog in the park. Huge problem for those that like to walk their pets and are respectful in picking up behind them. If they offered these few features it would put it up there with one of the best campgrounds in the country I'm sure.
Let me start by saying this is the most over rated park I've ever visited. We took advantage of a "spring special" which wasn't special at all. NO activities, no snack bar, no nothing. During our week it appears Strawberry Park is into the money making business. They sold the park for the day to a school field day. Buses filled the campground. Kids everywhere. Fighting, swearing, littering, etc. Too many kids to even use the pool ourselves. They seem to have forgotten to mention this when I reserved and "PAID" for my site. Also, you can't walk a pet here. They have to stay on site. You can't even walk them to the designated spot, which by the way, is outside the park. Rules say "no carrying pets." What? Stay away. Seems they are filling this place with mobile homes trying to get rid of the travel trailers. Look else where. I'm gonna make sure I do.
Small Campground. Quiet. Too quiet though. No pool, small river you can walk in but water level is too low to swim. No sewer but dump station on site. Disappointed that for a July weekend there was not one single activity. Clean campground but the lack of ANY entertainment or a pool will keep me away from returning. Perfect park for a retiree or childless. Good size sites. Stay along the river if you stay. Nice view.
Very nice little campground. Plenty of room on and between sites. Nice little lake and pool. Well manicured park. Owners seem to be intent on keeping place clean and adding or improving grounds. Nice little but old rec hall. Plenty of activities for kids. We enjoyed this C/G. Close to major Maine attractions such as Kittery or Ogunquit. Definitely quiet here...nice and relaxing. A good deal and must try if you need some R/R.
Very cute little campground. Only concern is very tight. This C/G was built when campers were tiny. I had a little bit of a hard time but not too much to handle. Just make sure you inquire when booking. River was nice. Kids loved exploring. Plenty of activities even during week. Petting zoo was nice. Clean campground. Pool was clean and refreshing. All around nice little get away. I was very happy with our week and will likely return in the future.
This park was pretty clean. Easy to get around (grid park). No sewer but dump station on site. No cable, no Internet. Sites are right on private beach bordering ocean belonging to park. Sites are a bit tight but you can fit camper w/2 vehicles easy. Pets allowed. No limitation on visitors. 7$ a carload of visitors. Store on site but rather costly. No activities. Boat launch in park. State police patrol park in car and on horse back often. Very quiet park. Fire pits on sites. Very good deal for the money. Can't beat this one. We were satisfied and will definitely return.
We stayed here for the kids school vacation. This trip began on Friday the 13th and the ole myth rang true. A real Nor-easter moved through the area bringing with it 4 days of pounding rain. The indoor pool and huge rec hall were a plus for the kids. We played games in the rec hall and were able to get out of the camper for a bit. The weather had nothing to do with the campground. The only thing I wished had happened is the campground would have offered a safe place/shelter. The wind blew at 60 mph gusts rocking the campers. Limbs down. Not a safe or comfortable sleep. I think the C/G should have offered the rec hall as a shelter to those with children. Sleeping bags on the floor and a movie would of put a lot at ease. I will email this to the C/G. Other than that: excellent stay. We'll to back.
This was by far the worst campground we stayed at this year. Pool does not open till 1pm. NO activities for kids or families. You are on your own. Quiet campground...does not sell out or even come close to that because of the lack of anything. Bath house is clean. Showers clean. Campground tried to charge my family, 4 members, to come in to check if I was there that weekend. Wouldn't even let them in to check. Campground has a Warden who harasses those staying. Stay away. Check the State Park at Salisbury instead.
I wasn't very impressed with this campground. Seems like a little older of a campground which needs some TLC. Although they have a pool it is unkept. Hardly any activities even on theme weekends. Good campground for a stay over but not for more than one day. Nice little pond with boats to use was only glimpse of saving this campground. Old bitty security guard who takes her job to serious. Small sites for pull throughs with no shade. Didn't use bathroom so can't comment on that. Nice location but doesn't offer much of a bang.
Had a very nice stay. First time and definitely not the last. Spent a Halloween weekend. Hay rides, costume contest, haunted mini golf, trick or treat. Awesome all around value. Only down fall to the whole campground is no cable or wifi at the sites. There is wifi at the store/lounge you can use but having it at the campsite would be a plus. In either case, we had a great time and will definitely return.
Check in is 3pm. We arrived and had to wait in the street till 7:30pm. Someone had been moved to our site due to problems with his sewer. He was gone. The office's solution was, "I don't know what to tell you." No reimbursement. No apology. No nothing. Sour beginning. I emailed my complaint. Again, no response. This turned me off. Pool was supposed to be heated. Fat chance. Activities: minor, no brainers that were all monitored by kids themselves. No return planned for this park. Lack of Management seems to be the problem.
This a return trip from last year. This campground is awesome. Three clean pools, nice store, rec. room. No activities but most go for the amusement park. Shuttle buses to park are awesome. Fast, drop you off at the front door of park and campground. Frequent buses. Free. Nightly preview as part of ticket is key. Don't forget to ask during booking. Gives you 3/4 hours the night before to check out park and ride as many rides as you can. Park is awesome. Cheap park, cleanest I've ever seen. Awesome trip. Going back again soon. This one is a definite try for camping with an amusement park.
