We chose this park because it seemed like the nicest option while visiting Carlsbad Caverns NP. The campground is pretty nice, nothing that spectacular. The sites are spaced apart nicely with shade covered tables. They also have a really nice park for the kids, that looks brand new. I have 3 complaints about the park, though. First off, it's pretty far from the Caverns, at least 45 minutes, longer for us because there was road construction. Secondly, the next day that we were there, a group of inmates (orange jumpsuits and all) arrived and used the bathrooms right next to the playground. We were leaving for the day to go to Caverns, so I can only assume that they were there to clean/maintain the park. They weren't there alone or anything, there were 2 armed guards with them, but with 2 little kids, it didn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling that they were there at all. Thirdly, every night a petroleum smell would blow in that was pretty overwhelming. There aren't very many options in the area for RV parks that looked any better. Next time, we would probably just drive into the Caverns and drive through Carlsbad and stay somewhere else.

We stayed here for an overnight stay on our way to Carlsbad, NM. The campground is very clean and well maintained. They have a nice playground that our kids enjoyed. The view sites looked pretty nice. They have a nice little store that sells souvenirs, grocery items and even had stamps. I used the laundry and it was very clean. All of the staff was very courteous and helpful. They have a pool, but it was closed for refurbishment. We would stay here again, easy on and off the highway, but not so close that you hear it all night.

This is a nice park, not far from Tucson. There are electric and non-electric sites and they do not take reservations. We arrived a little bit late in the day, and all of the electric sites were full. We took a non-electric and the camp host said that he would put our name on a waiting list for an electric site. He knocked on the door the next morning and said there was an opening. We decided just to stay where we were since we weren't going to be there much longer it would be more of a hassle to move everything. Overall, the campground has a really nice layout and great hiking trails. The views of the mountains are awesome!

This park is very clean and well maintained. We have 2 kids, and it was one of the few parks in town that allow kids. The staff is great, very helpful. The rate is fairly high, but for good reason, the weather during the peak times is beautiful. My kids were very happy to be using the pool in February. I also used the fitness center, which was nice and had a good variety of equipment. There is also a little duck pond that the kids enjoyed. We would totally stay here again.

The only thing this campground has going for it is it's location. It's basically a parking lot overlooking electrical power lines. The shower flooded the floor outside so it made it impossible to get dressed without getting your clothes wet. Make sure to check everything with the manager, some of the information that is on the brochure and website are inaccurate. We would not stay here again.

This park is kept up very nicely with pull through sites that have a small grass area and a tree. For how close it is to the downtown area, we were very happy with the campground.

This is a great park. They have electric only hookups. They have potable water, but it is recommended to bring water in the winter, because when we were there the pipes froze. We got a couple of channels with our antenna. The restrooms were not clean, only because there was no water - the showers are free and clean. This is a beautiful park with trails & wildlife - would stay again!

This is a very nice campground. There are many different site options to choose from. We stayed in the I campground which included water & electric hookups. There are cable boxes, but no cable service. We were walking distance to the lake. The campground is clean and well maintained. Would stay here again.

As far as an overnight stay, this place was good. The staff led us to our site. The sites were clean. The site we stayed at did not have cable, but you can get reception with an antenna to major network channels. Quiet, yet close to the highway - would recommend.

This campground is one of the most beautiful campgrounds I have ever been to. It is set among the redwoods - we had some huge trees in our campsite. There are waterfront sites along the Smith River - most of them look pretty small - if our trailer would have fit they are definitely the best sites. There are trails that go throughout the entire camp which are nice, but no dogs are allowed on them. There is a large group tent site that looks awesome. The showers were not open when we were there. Would stay here again.

What a gorgeous park! There are two trails that start in the campground that are nice. Across Highway 1 is the beach - camping is available in the parking lot there for one night only. Most of the sites are shaded and quite large. The showers are not free - but they are clean. Wi-Fi is available through AT&T in the Visitors Center parking lot only. The campground is located a couple of miles from Mendocino - a beautiful city. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice shaded sites. Very close to Point Reyes Nat. Seashore, which is beautiful. Got really crowded on Saturday and the sites are pretty close together. Wasn't a problem, though, was really quiet after hours. Has showers that are semi-private that are free and clean. Overall, a really nice place with large trees.

This park is meant for one purpose only, to stop on the I-5. The park was clean, but the sites are dirt (dust). They have a little playground that is old, but nothing was in disrepair. I couldn't tell if the pool could be used - we just wanted to spend the night. The person at the front desk was nice. Fast food restaurants are walking distance. You can definitely hear the highway. Expensive for what it is, but there are little other options when traveling from No. to So. Calif. We would stay here again if the need arose.

We had stayed at this park before and had a wonderful time, but it had been approximately 15 years prior. We were very disappointed in the changes that had occurred. The majority of the park is occupied by permanent residences, which include RV's and park model mobile homes. There are only around 10 full hookup campsites that can be used for campers. I only saw one tent site, which looked nice. The bathrooms that were located near us were closed the entire time we were there & smelled really bad. There was only one picnic table for all of the RV sites and you can get a fire pit upon request. There are 2 ponds, one looks like they are trying to empty it & the other looked nicer, but still had a lot of trash in & around it. There was no longer a store, or the large clubhouse that we remembered. The playground looked run-down & had graffiti written on it. The first night we were there, 2 men were involved in a fist fight. It was not very peaceful because there was always dogs barking and loud music playing. We couldn't walk our dog like we usually do, because there were always stray dogs running around that looked sick. The price for this campground was an astonishing $45 a night, what is normally paid for a camping resort. This campground is no resort.

This is a nice campground. Most of the campsites have no shade, only the ones next to the stream are shaded by aspen trees. There are wonderful views of the mountains that border the campground. Water faucets can be far away for some sites. There is a dump station. You can make reservations online.

Our family has camped here 3 times. We have had a great experience every time. You definitely need a reservation, especially if you would like to be on the blufftop, which is definitely recommended. The beach is beautiful and can be accessed by stairs. There are many water faucets & dump stations are easy to use.
