Never ran into the allegedly crazy owner alluded to by other reviewers. Only needed to stay overnight. The park is built on the side of a hill but the large sites all terraced so they are level. My motorhome was straining to get to the site. No amenities to speak of.
Nice park, but a little over-priced. Definitely oriented toward small children only. Pool is too small and only 3.5 ft. deep. Water park is great for little kids. Roads are kind of narrow and un-paved. The park is almost an hour from Lancaster shops, buffets, etc.
Sites are large and private with plenty of shade. Premium sites (which we had) has a concrete pad about 40'x20'. Pool still has a deep end with a diving board. One small caveat...roads are all paved but narrow which might cause a problem for large trailers to back in. They have a rule about not using my street legal scooter or motorcycle to tour the park with, but you are allowed to bring it to your site and go to and from the outside world with it. But when I explained to the management that I didn't have a car with my motorhome and the pool and store are over a 1/4 mile away from my site plus I had a bum knee that would make walking difficult, they allowed me to use mine. Not many places bend rules to suit the needs of their customers. This is the only park that I can remember that deserves a 10 rating.
A nice place with large sites with a beautiful lake and an indoor pool. Now the bad part...when I called for reservations, no mention of the outdoor pool not even filled yet considering this was the weekend AFTER memorial day. $52 a night + $8 extra for a friend of mine who just showed up for coffee...a crabby old man (employee) who rides around in a jeep...lower the rates a little, cut the guest surcharge in half, and cheer up the staff and I'll raise my rating considerably.
Sites are way too small. They don't allow campfires. I couldn't bring my toad to the site. The pools are only 3.5 ft deep. Too crowded and noisy. Staff had a lousy attitude. Reserved for 6 days, left after two. Really big argument for a refund.
I'm reluctant to give too good a rating because it may make this place so popular that I can't get a reservation. It's in the "middle of nowhere" on top of a mountain, with not much to do close by. But, most sites are spacious gravel pads with healthy grass to camp on. A small but perfectly heated pool (to about 80F) very friendly staff and great rates. Even if every site were full. it would not seem crowded. I'm definitely going back soon.
Older park with many permanents. Narrow roads with a public road running right through it. Pool was too small for such a large park. Place like this should not charge extra, as they do, for kids and A/C. My low rating is based on value. Should be a $28 /day park.
When we arrived, site was full of cigarette butts and wood ashes. The overly solar heated to 95 degrees swimming pool is packed on the weekends, as it is open to the general public. Place is probably 75% permanents. Access roads are very narrow and turns are tight. I would have given it a slightly higher rating if it were about $40 /night.
Nice place in a nice location. A little too expensive. Definitely should have two pools as the one they have is usually packed. Because of the long distances between activities in the park ,everybody drive either a car or golf cart everywhere which makes for a dusty atmosphere.
Excellent campground w/ large sites and not a lot of bogus rules. They allow you to go to you site earlier than their usual check-in time if the site is vacant. Great free water park but since it is open to the public it's crowded. The park only has one, not very large, pool to handle over 500 sites,so that too was very crowded. WiFi service was very slow and intermittent at it's best.I would have given it a higher rating except for the high price for a family of four.
Great place. The outdoor pool still has a 9 ft section and a diving board, rare these days. They charge $4 per night per child which annoys me as 2 adults and 2 kids should be included. Sites are spacious and very shaded. Would have given it a 9 rating if not for the child surcharge.
Great park...a little expensive but you get a lot for your money. It's in a great area and the free shows they have are top shelf. Good laundry ,good showers ,nice sized sites. Not a lot of B.S. rules.
This is an OK park that just is over-priced. The bathroom in the front is crude and has no shower or sink to wash your hands. The fishing pond small. They charge extra for kids, which in a park like this is ridiculous. Sites were large. I went in May which should be cheaper but $44 a night for my wife and I and one child is absurd. I met a family w/ 5kids. That would be $68 a night! This place would be a great $28 a night campground. No wonder it was half empty.
