Very nice park. Very clean an well run. The orange blossoms were great, we were there just as the harvest was getting under way. Lake Placid is a small ag-based community with none of the Florida hussle to be seen.
We have camped here the last four Octobers. All the sites are back in, gravel, shaded and relaxing. This is one of the TVA sites on the Tennessee River at Pickwick Dam on the south end of Pickwick Lake. The only negative is the tug boats on the river at night. Every site is shaded by 60' pines, there are three camping loops, each with restroom/showers. Golden Eagle Cards are honored for 1/2 price camping.
We have stayed at this park several times a year for the last several years. The sites are huge, lots of space between camp sites both rear and both sides. You can walk to the Ohio River, Fort Massac site, or to Big John's grocery store. The staff lean over backwards to help everyone. Very relaxing, restful campground for a day or a week or more.
