I knew I would not get a site with electric hookup when I showed up but I wanted to stay at this park anyhow. So I chose a site in the Sunrise section (ranger stated it was more private spots). I stayed in site 6. It was a great spot. My 39' RV fit easily and any 45' would fit as well in this spot. It was nice and shady, had a lot of privacy, and was very level. The park is a nice park, not really large, but big enough. Riding bicycles within the park is great as the roads were empty most of the time. There was a beach area and lots of families were at the park enjoying a lot of the activities. There is a dump station with potable water. The water faucets throughout the park had no hose hookup so keep that in mind if you think you'll need water. The rangers and their help were very friendly and quite helpful. I would camp here again as I'd like to stay in one of the electric sites instead of boon docking for three days like I did.
I stayed in site 743, the pet loop. There are other loops and each was slightly different in terms of site selections. All sites seemed to be quite large, good spacing between sites. Site 743 was great as it was a corner lot affording really nice sunset views. The downside was there is a street lamp (low intensity) right at the corner but pretty well hidden by trees. It does light up the picnic table area and all which may be a plus or minus, depending on your preferences. The park is huge overall. Good hiking and bicycling. The waterfalls are 11+ miles away from the camping area so plan for that in visiting the falls. I really enjoyed my stay here (3 days). I plan on returning as 2 days wasn't enough time to really enjoy what the park offers.
I really liked this park. It was spacious, has lots of biking/hiking trails and was big rig friendly. My site was 86, level, sites 88, 92 and 95-98 look like nice, private sites as well. There is a dump station (2 can dump at once). They allowed fires when I was there and the staff was quite friendly, helpful. I will come back here again, likely pre-registering as they say it gets busy once the pool was open.
