Immaculately maintained park with all kinds of amenities to make the stay enjoyable: swings, bicycles, a large community fire pit on lawned area, canoes for cruising the stream, and extremely nice owners. The place shows great pride in ownership!!
A classic example of what was once probably a very nice campground, now in a state of decay due to neglect. The BBQ stands had not been cleaned and wasps/yellowjackets abound. Website says "gravel or pine needle sites". Not! Some gravel left over from a long time ago and mostly fine powdery dirt dust. The one bldg with 1 bathroom and 1 shower per gender: were filthy with holes punched in the walls, litter and water on the floor. We were there 3 days and the garbage cans and bathroom were never cleaned. No staff on site or ever seen. Although there were only 6 sites occupied, the manager would not give us even a partial refund because we left one day earlier than our reservation had been made for. Only positive is the proximity to the South entrance to Lassen Park. Also, the gas station across the road is closed. Closest gas station is about 25 miles away in Chester. IF you absolutely must stay here: pay only one night at a time or they'll rip you off for the whole reserved time. Next time we visit Lassen Park we'll drive the extra miles and stay elsewhere.
A perfect place to stay and explore the beautiful area. Our campsite was right on the edge of a beautiful little lake with catch and release huge trout. The park is spotless and the staff make you feel like family. There is access to Burney Falls Park, Mt Lassen Park and several fishing streams within a few minutes drive of this place. The food at the Cookhouse Restaurant there is excellent. We plan to return next year and stay longer just to enjoy the RV Park!
