Nice campground, friendly and helpful staff. Sites are very close together with limited shady sites. Very nice pool and poolside cafe, prices are very reasonable in the cafe. Every time we have been to this park, ants are a problem. Bath houses are clean and air-conditioned.
This is our favorite campground! The owner and staff are fabulous. They go out of their way to make your stay a wonderful experience. The grounds are immaculate with mature trees shading the sites and a huge fenced dog area. Location is perfect for easy access to kayaking, white-water rafting, hiking, tubing, etc. We love to see a campground with all types of campers: tents to million dollar motorhomes. Truly a family campground.
No frills overnight campground if you are traveling I75. Dirt roads, sites are small and close together but adequate. No designated dog walk area and from what I saw they do not enforce the "clean up after your dog" rule. Looked like a number of trashy campers were permanent. But for $25, it is an easy off/on to I75.
Once again, this campground was perfect for our needs. Very clean, large sites with level concrete pads and paved roads. Campground was clean and well kept, grass mowed and trees trimmed. Perfect home base if you have business in the area or if you have plans during the day. There is nothing to do at the campground, no pool, playground, game room, fenced dog area, or activities. But if quiet, clean and friendly is what you want, this is your place.
Management was very friendly and our riverfront site was large and paved. The park is perfect for large rigs but not what I would call kid or family friendly. With no pool or playground there is nothing for kids to do here; that is probably why we did not see any kids and the park was extremely quiet although quite full. Perfect place for retirees, but if you want activities for kids, this is not the place to stay.
Wonderful campground! We have camped here several times and will be back again. Management is friendly and helpful and always willing to do anything to make your stay enjoyable. The campground was full but still quiet and relaxing. Sites are shady and level and the dog area is the nicest I have ever seen. Can't wait to go back in the Fall.
In the past I have rated this park 9-10, however, this trip we were very disappointed. We took advantage of their 'pay for 2 days, stay for 3' promo. I was informed that the weekend we chose was their summer kick-off and many activities were planned for kids, including crafts and the Hippo Slide. We had our grandchildren camping with us so this sounded perfect. What we were not told, was this event was open and free to the public on Saturday. The pool, slide, hot tubs, etc., were packed liked sardines all day and night on Saturday. In addition, the Friday night before, there was a high school banquet held poolside and again the pool was overcrowded with rowdy teens. The putt putt golf equipment was in terrible shape, and there were no kid-size putters available. The bath house was semi clean but had ants crawling on the walls and floors. I think it is unfair to campers who pay to use the facilities, not to be told that they will be sharing it with locals coming in free. We would not have booked the same weekend had we been told.
A great campground for the price. Sites are not large and are close together, power boxes are shared so you may need extra cord to reach. The hiking trails are great, waterfalls are beautiful and facilities are clean. The employees are friendly and helpful and garbage cans are very convenient to all sites. Great experience, we will return.
Great location but entire cg is sand, no pavement anywhere. Rained while we were there and roads had standing water everywhere. Bathhouses were very old but clean. Playground is dilapidated and useless. Pool was nice but we didn't use it, too cold. Would rate higher if not for all the dirt/sand. It is definitely not a resort but I guess they can charge "resort" rates because of the location. On a positive note...Sites were large, shady and private, restaurant on site was good and staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
Overall camping at this resort was wonderful. We camped with small children and they loved the Petting Farm and Pony Rides. The Swamp Buggy ride was also a big hit, as was the rodeo. The rodeo seemed to have fewer entries than in the past but still very entertaining. We stayed on site 357 which is a premium site with beautiful shade trees,a large deck, fire pit, and 3 swings. The picture on the website shows a wooden table with 6 patio chairs around it; however, there were no chairs to be found and we were not able to enjoy eating outside. Also, this site is NOT designed for large fifth wheels like ours, it is for motorhomes so we had a very hard time backing into and exiting the site due to trees. Neighbors on nearby sites said they had never seen a fifth wheel on the site before. We love the campground and will return.
Negatives of this park are dirt roads, no paved pads, lots of large stones on sites. Water in lake must have rust because all of our bathing suits are permanently stained and the pool had black algae. With that being said, we did enjoy the park. The slide was fun but not open during the week. The pool was adequate and the staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The small kids enjoyed the train ride and hay ride. Meeting Yogi was also a big hit. The park offers something for kids of all ages which is not easy to find.
Premium paved sites are very tight but close to the pool. We opted for a site in the back with a little more room but lots of ants in the grassy areas. Not many sites with shade. Nice pool area and snack bar; bath houses were clean and dumpsters were conveniently located. The roads are narrow and if the park was full it would be hard to navigate a large camper and truck through the park. Is very convenient to shopping and restaurants.
We camped here on Memorial weekend so the park was extremely busy as they do allow non-campers, day passes to swim in the lagoon. The park is very large so the extra people are not an issue. The park staff are all very friendly and helpful, the sites are large and many are shaded. Picnic tables are under shelters scattered throughout the park, but not at each individual site. This is a true family campground with tents, pop-ups, TT's, 5th wheels and motorhomes. I would rate this park a 10 if they had a playground, dog park and picnic tables at sites. All in all, we love this campground and will return.
