Good: clean, large sites, good staff. Bad: for this price, a decent WiFi is a must. This CG has one that is worse than poor. Excuse by staff is that there are too many sites and too expensive to upgrade. The Tengo system is bad wherever it is located. The one here is terrible. If not for this, I would give the CG a higher rating
Just a 10 all around. Passport rate of 19/night for 2 nights then 32 for an additional night. Clean. Brand new and super clean. Paved roads and easy in/out for any size. Great wifi. Right off the freeway but no noise. Beats anything else in the area.
Stayed for 2 mos. Rate is monthly rate. There are 2 levels to this park. Lower level is cramped and full of year round people. Upper level is 60% year round. Nothing wrong with year round, people were nice. Upper section much nicer. Clean grounds. Negatives: Interstate 15 noise is apparent, not overwhelming but I would think in the summer with windows open it would be very apparent. No wifi. Park like this, wifi should be included. Might look around at other parks when we return next year.
OK for overnight, run by the Baptist Church. My problem was no pull thrus, all back in spots. But it was fine and quiet. Never did see anyone in the office, just put the money in an envelop and pick a spot. VERY tight turn into the park from the east but we have a 30' MH pulling a Jeep and made it OK. Much longer MH and I would pass it by and make a u turn down the road.
Just a great place for an overnight stay. All pull thrus and great on-site manager. All the amenities of full hook ups. It is gravel but this is in the middle of nowhere and for the price is a great deal. Good gas prices across the street also.
We really liked this RV park. Clean grounds, escort to site, good Wi-Fi (free) and for Passport rate of 16.00!! What a great deal for double that price. Nice staff, helpful. Asked for a late checkout (normally 10:00 am, a bit early in my opinion) and no problem at all.
We really liked this place. It is rustic but clean and on the highway but not noisy at all at night. We had to leave the RV and go to Elko for 4 days and the management was very nice in parking us in a spot up close to the manager. They kept an eye on it while we were gone. Price was right.
Stayed 4 nights and it was great. This is a true find. Many spaces now have water and sewer as ours did. Electricity is installed but not turned on yet at many sites. The ranger said that power will be on sometime after the first of the year. Price is with senior discount card.
If you read what this campground is before coming up here, then you have to rate it a 10. No amenities, but they do have water at a central location and a dump station at the entrance. The views are spectacular, sites level enough and large enough for any MH. We have a 30' Class A but saw a number of 38' up here. No problem. We unhooked the Jeep before coming up the smooth dirt road but you don't need to. They even have 3-4 pull throughs. We were apprehensive, never been here before. But this is great and this place is able to accommodate MH's to about 38' or so.
This is IMO the best park/value in the area. Great Wi-Fi, cable, clean, staff great, etc., etc. True, the "patios" are rock/gravel, but that is fine with us, better than the dirt in many parks. Escort to site, basics in their store, fuel/propane on premises. The few permanent residents appeared to keep their spaces up better than a lot of others we have been in. We will stay here when back in the area.
This park is just no longer worth it. I have been stopping here for the past few yrs but no more. You now have to check-in at the Hotel/Casino, staff is gone from the park. This is a hassle as the line was very long when we checked in at Hotel Registration. Sites are uneven and very small. There was a car parked in our spot when we pulled in and nobody from the park to assist. I called the Hotel and they were useless. Supposed to stay 2 nights bu pulled out after one. Will not return.
I am a tough rater and tried to stay in another park close by but they "lost" my reservation so had to stay here. From the previous ratings I expected minimal but was pleasantly surprised. Staff was fine, escorted to site, everything worked fine, quiet. Yes, there are many permanent residents but this has become the norm over the past few years. Had no trouble here and it was quiet all afternoon and night. This is my future spot for an overnight in this town.
We did not stay here but tried to. Had a reservation and were tired and hot when we pulled in. Were met at the entrance by a lady who said they made a mistake, they are now full. I told her we had a reservation, her response is that they were full. Went down the street and had a good stay.
Stayed 2 nights and will not be back. We were here 2 years ago and there appears to be quite a change. About 2/3 of the spots are full time residents with some very rundown trailers, etc. One guy lives in a small van. Tight spots. Nice people and to be honest, we had no trouble with any of the residents, but this is not what we RV for. Noisy at 6:15 in the morning as some were going to work. Back across the fwy for us next time.
Great staff at check-in, great cable. However, this park is getting a little rundown. Dog droppings ON the patio table at our site. And other droppings all around the table. We did have a nice site on the grass on the east side, and it was quiet. Cash discount of 20% is a nice touch. This place has a lot of history (since 1936) so it would be worth some closer attention to the details to make it a bit nicer.
OK for a night's stay (for us) but nothing longer. Plenty of room for any size RV, great cable TV, great staff in the office. Gravel and a table at the sites. Quite a bit of hwy noise and train noise all night. Couple dozen permanent residents here; I don't recall this from 2 yrs ago. No problems with this, just more junk around, etc.
This is about 2 miles off the Interstate, easy to get to though. The park is very tight into some spots, we have a 30' Class A pulling a Jeep and had no trouble getting into our spot (pull through) but the park was pretty vacant. We would not have been able to get into some spots without unhooking. Check before pulling in. Good lake at the park, nice walking areas. Good deal and very quiet.
This is just a really nice spot for a night or two. Great staff, clean, grassy spots, many many cable channels, full hookups. 3-5 minute walk to Cabela's. Great small cafe inside Cabela's. Safeway 2 miles away. Our second time here. We will be back some day.
Stayed for 5 nights while attending the State Fair. Just fine for us, great staff (owners) and escort to site. No problem with levelling, site was actually quite level to begin with. Clean laundry and reasonable price. Not much shade but great satellite TV reception and quiet at night. Would return.
This is just not worth it, even at 16.00 per night. It is right on the Interstate but to get to it you have to drive down a 1 mile very very dusty dirt road. The motorhome and toad were a mess after this road. The noise from the Interstate is constant, all night. Mostly permanent residents, but they seemed nice enough, no issues there. We would not return, mainly due to the road to get to it.
This is a true diamond in the rough. Not for everyone, have to be a bit adventuresome to appreciate the flavor of this place. About a mile off the hwy down a dirt road, smooth and graded though and just fine. The 3 spots available (yes 3) are fine for 45' or so and all pull through. $25.00 for all the amenities, 50 amp, sewer, etc. Good cell reception and the sat TV worked fine. Wonderful older couple own the place, she gave us some tomatoes from her garden for dinner. Total quiet at night, about 8 miles north of Belleville. I would go out of my way next time to stop here.
I read the previous reviews, some of which said the staff was less than friendly and the rules too stringent. I could not have been more surprised. The guy who checked us in (the owner I believe) was nicer and more friendly than 95% of any other RV park we have been. We got a great spot, all the amenities for 34.00. Not bad at all. The roads in and sites are gravel, which can be a bit rough in spots but just fine if you go slow. Only drawback is the train, which came thru 2x during the night and sounded like it was traveling right through the park. Other than that, quiet all night.
A bit more than we wanted to spend but this is a KOA which I find a bit more exp than most. However, was nice and we got a clean, level site. Not all sites are level though so ask. Good scenery, out in the country a bit. Decent road in but it is not Hwy quality, rough but nothing bad at all. We got a pull through with 50 amp, you can pay less than we did w/o 50 and the pull through. Nice people at check in.
This is a really great value. Right on the Hwy but quiet at night. 50 amp, cable, water, sewer at site, self check-in. Pull through sites. Clean and within walking distance of Pizza Hut. Self car wash next door. Wish they had a chain across the country.
Rundown park (not even a park really, a few sites full of weeds and bugs next to a motel). Water/sewer on one side and electric on the other side of the sites. Water spigot under the ground and had to clean it of bugs/mud prior to use, Is part of a motel, sites next to parking lot and traffic coming and going. Mostly full-time people here, a lot of alcohol and late night partying the one nite we spent here. Would bypass next time.
We were reluctant to stop here due to previous reviews. Then we saw they had changed hands. So we stayed one night and it was fine. They are indeed under new mgmt and the new owners are apparently trying to change previous reviews. The scenery is beautiful, and it is located very close to Virginia City. No discount for GS, etc., and the price seemed too high. Gravel sites which were a bit of a pain to get the MH level. All in all though, I would stay here again. Free Wi-Fi which worked fine.
I would bypass this place. The people upon check-in (have to go to casino for this) were as unfriendly and unprofessional as could be. I checked via phone in the morning as I was a few miles out, in reference to Wi-Fi. Was assured it worked. After check-in, could not get it to work. Seems it is run by the gas station next door, casino said to check with them. I did: it had been down for weeks. Complaint upon deaf ears. This RV park is next to the casino parking lot, which I did not like. I would not stay here again.
This is just a really nice place. Price was fair, has great fishing and a view. No free Wi-Fi or cable TV or dump at sites. But there is a convenient dump site at the entrance. Wi-Fi is available at the laundromat a mile away, for a dollar a day.
This is a true "10" and a real find on the barren 395 in this area. It is about 2-3 miles off the hwy but worth the short trip. Sites are great, scenery is great and people very nice. Look at the price, a real bargain.
I just cannot give this CG a higher rating because of 2 things: many of the sites are not near level and it makes it very difficult to get a good level. The sites are so narrow as are the roads thru the CG. That said, the laundry was clean and reasonably priced...Right downtown on busy 395 but not loud at night at all.
Good for a stop but I would bypass in the future and if going NB stop up the line a bit to a cheaper place for the same quality. This CG is all dirt spots and when we were there the wind was blowing and it was a real mess. Staff friendly enough.
New owners last month, great friendly young couple that are enthusiastic about making a nice place. Fair price, we stayed 2 nights and looked out over the lake (reservoir) with a great site. They also have pull-throughs available. Good cable and Wi-Fi, both free. Great fishing right off the CG (2 lb trout). Would stay here again, probable will coming back home.
Stayed here 2 nights, should have moved on. Sites very uneven, smell of sewer at our site, no cell coverage and no cable. Good Wi-Fi if you are close to the office. Looks like a nice pool for the kids. There are many many RV parks that are not advertised in the area that are cheaper and nicer. This is basically gravel and it was smelly. Too expensive for what you get. Would not stay here again.
This is a basic park but all sites are pull through. What makes it a great park are the owners, who were here 8-8 during our 4 night stay. Great people and so accommodating. New park, so the trees are all small. Fair rate and although close to the interstate, not bad at all. Absolutely would stay here again. Planned 1-2 nights and stayed 4. Will stay here on our return trip.
This is a very clean older park with a lot of full timers in older, but well kept rigs. Sites are narrow and there is some noise, park is right in town. Pay for Wi-Fi and most sites are back-in but no problem there. I would stay here again passing through if I could pay Passport America price only. ($26 is PA price). Staff was friendly.
What can I say except this is one fine park. Staff friendly, escort to site, helpful. Clean grounds, scenic, quiet, just a real nice place and for the value is excellent. Have not found a nicer place, cannot wait to return.
Stayed here day after Thanksgiving, spot with only elect and water, no sewer/cable. Quoted $48 but when told they quoted $34 an hour earlier on the phone they honored that price. Very good. Friendly staff. Good Wi-Fi. They had some premium spots, concrete, avail for $98.00 but we told them we'll pass on that price thank you. Our spot was really overpriced at $34. Park is clean, except for an area of resident trailers that are really out of place here, really run down. I think next time I will pass this park by.
An immaculate park, newer rigs well kept, staff super friendly and accommodating to us. We stayed here 2 nights over Thanksgiving. A bit of noise from the nearby freeway and other streets (this is in the heart of town). But the adjacent industrial areas were closed down so I cannot judge the noise from them. Might be noticeable during the week. I would stay here again if in the area.
About 5 miles off Hwy 101 and we found this place to be a gem. It is older with a number of full time residents in older trailers, but nice people. The elderly lady who checked us in was very nice, she and about 6 of her friends guided us to the right spot to park. Dirt sites but huge trees, like a forest. Wi-Fi worked great, no cable TV. A bit of noise from a close by main street, but not bad. I would stay here again. Very good value.
Camped here 2 nights. Great facility, clean, good Wi-Fi, good cable TV. Good staff. A bit noisy from the road next to the park, but not bad in winter with windows closed. Good grass and some shade. A bit close to your neighbor, but this is prime property close to the beach (half hour walk). We did not have 50 amp service at our site so don't know if other sites do. I would certainly stay here again, good value.
Stayed here for one night, passing through. It's a clean park, has nice staff, is close to downtown and a 20 minute walk to beach. Location is great, but very noisy from the freeway (right on freeway). Get a spot in the back. Too pricey for what you get really. There's no cable TV but good Wi-Fi. I would stay again but only passing through, not for extended periods.
